There's an embarassment of riches in that Dundee United side. Wouldn't be against Pawlett or Johnny Hayes either. All signings at this point are welcome.

Macaky-Steven played right midfield yesterday. One for the end of the window maybe, but the priority should be Armstrong. I honestly think we'd be into about £4million for him and it would be the best piece of business we've done in a while.

Armstrong and MacKay-Steven are the ones to watch there. Hayes and Pawlett I don't care for.

I think Dow has looked really good in all the games I've watched him.

Armstrong yes, Mackay-Stevens definitely not. Wouldn't be against Ciftci though, that pass for Stevens goal was class.

Would like us to sign young Armstrong and GMS since we need wingers to play in the managers formation, but will we sign any of them? Not too sure.

Was speaking to a colleague based in Middlesbrough this morning. He's under the impressions we've made a move for their young keeper Jason Steele. He said theres a few mentions of it on M'boro fans forums...

Jason Steele, aye do it. I was quietly confident about Gordon until he let 6 in and started talking about kicking the ball out and not getting any pain. I'll be happy the minute Zaluska gets shippped out the club and the Italian kid looks very promising.

Please don't make our last signing before this deadline a goalkeeper. A striker for *'s sake.

Uninspiring but we have a cracking goalkeeper coach in Woodsy.

Samaras isn't strong. He is easy to bring down if someone catches up to him. For a man of his size, he could do with more muscle. Van Dijk...I guess. But I think he uses his positioning and reading of the game a lot more than actual pace.

From what iv read he was quite highly rated by some fans and Karanka (their manager) had stated in an interview that he was unfortunate to get injured last season and their stand in goalkeepers impressed him so much that he decided to stick with them. So not a fault of his own, just that he decided to give the stand ins a show of faith.

Being an ex england u21 international id hope he has a bit of quality.

Seeing as we are unlikely to spend for a Forster replacement, Manuel Almunia is currently a free-agent. Hardly a perfect replacemen but he does have European experience with Arsenal
