Had a lot of good games, in a * team, including against us. Remember we play in Scotland too, with better players around him he becomes a better player. If he is cheap, what is the harm in it. He is already settled in the country.

I'd probably take SWP, but keep Jamie Mackie as far away for Glasgow as possible!!

The only one I would take would be Dunne - and only on pay-as-you-play terms. The wealth of experience and leadership someone like him could bring to our defence could well prove invaluable. He's injury prone, but a PAYP deal would mean we wouldn't be wasting money while he was out. Even if he didn't play that regularly, I still think he'd offer so much in terms of mentoring our other defenders. If we signed him, I'd like another, younger CB as well.

There's something about Ireland that would make me disinclined to trust that he'd always give his all - especially if he was coming to a league where he was instantly one of the most skilful players.

Given is one of my all-time favourite goalkeepers, but if Forster goes, we have to be looking long-term imo. I'd have him as second choice, but he's been quite open in saying he still wants first-team football.

I'm well aware we play in Scotland mate :86:

I don't think he had a lot of good games tbh, hence the reason why I don't want us forking out cash for him :50:

That's where he's mainly played for Scotland, and has done well there - as I said in the James McLean thread the other day. I think that's by far his best position.

Your bang on Devlin mate :50: we badly need an auld heid, somebody thats been there and done it. Big Dunne is still up there too. We badly need consistency in our defence. Inconsitency in defence, disnae inspire the confidence of a keeper either :ynwacelti

Does Bannan play on the wing? I've never seen him play there.

I know it says it on wiki but I don't see how he's suited there, he seems a Modric-type player.

I know wingers don't have to have pace eg Commons/Snodgrass but I can't recall him trying to beat a man either.

Barry Bannan, what to run out against the likes of Barcelona? Aston Villa's a team full of duds. They've had their arses felt all season.

Not really. Benteke, Weimann, Clark, Guzan, Lowton, Agbonlahor - all good players.

What a premiership team expects to get for 5 million is a lot different to what we'd expect. Also, none of them are gonna want to move away from the premier league. It's a non-starter.

Probably one of the hardest teams to do business with in the premier league. It's more likely that they might want one or two players from us. Maybe Kayal. He's one guy i could see being moved on in the Summer, due to his lack of first team games. Maybe Bannan would sweeten up the deal, who knows.
