I doubt that he'll leave now. He had a good few games at the end of the season and I believe that Mowbray has him in his plans.

Like to see him stay. Doesn't make me too mnervous when the ball comes to him and likes a goal. Think he'll be better this year now he's settled and more up to the pace.

Birmingham have had an offer accepted for Roger Johnson (Loovens former partner).

So Loovens won't be going to Brum, it seems.

Can't see any truth in this whatsoever.

Birmingham have just had a bid accepted for Cardiff's centre half Roger Johnson anyway.

big loovens is a tasty prospect! and under Mowbry I think we could have a future Dutch international in our ranks. am glad we have knocked back the bid and hopefully any future bids unless its for many millions!

I really like the big guy. Not the quickest but he can fair gallop if given the time. Plus he's a beast in the air, scores goals, plays with heart and he isn't all that bad with the ball at feet. Between him and not-so-bomb-scare-the-now Caldwell I think we have a nice partnership. Both are good with the ball, he's hoping under Tony they improve even more. And in fairness to him, Mick's a good backup.

Another good player the dafties had written off after about 3 starts and a couple of sub appearances. I think he could be immense for us. A real natural physical CB with a pretty nice touch too. He and Caldwell were very solid in the run in. Shame the minute the back was looking solid (even Artur seemed sane again!) the CFs completely malfunctoned:54:

I would give big caldwell the captains arm band for next season as i think he will really come on with a bit more responsibilty and make broony vice captain

    Good news.

Sky Sports | Football | Transfer Centre | Speculation | Loovens sticking with Celtic

Glenn Loovens says he has no interest in a summer switch away from Celtic.

The Dutch defender, who joined the Bhoys from Cardiff last August, has been linked with a move to Premier League newcomers Birmingham.

The Blues are looking to bolster their backline on their return to the top tier of English football and have already recruited goalkeeper Joe Hart and defenders Scott Dann and Giovanny Espinoza, with Roger Johnson also set for a move to St Andrews.

But Loovens isn't interested in joining Alex McLeish's men.

He told the Daily Record: "I'm staying at Celtic. I finished the season strongly and Celtic are not a club you want to leave.

"Everything is perfect here. You are treated like a superstar."

Keep Loovens, he quietly improved with every game last season.

Put him in ahead of bombscare Mick
