It's funny how most people are saying "Yeah, our team is good enough", yet most people were calling them a bunch of botlers after every game during the season. If this team IS good enough, why didn't it win the league?

I don't believe we are. Basic first touch and simple passing was off for most of the season from most players, and overall play was poor to watch.

A few fresh faces are needed desperately imo.

If it's Mowbray, it will be interesting to see how he utilises McCourt as it was him who spotted him when he was Hibs manager and tried to sign him for West Brom.

Would McDonald really be as good as a lone front man? We need someone with the stature of VoH who can finish, as Skippy seems to shine when he's got someone up there with him. Samaras has shown glimpses and I believe he has the ability, he's just so inconsistent it's untrue. Maybe pushing Brown up to slot just behind would work. My main priority would be left-back. If we can get someone who's as adept at going forward as Hinkel, we'd create a lot more, rather than the awful Naylor playing nothing balls and ending attacks before they've begun. It'll also be interesting to see if anyone comes to fill Naka's boots.

Theres a few areas I think we need to look at. A striker, if not 2, is a definite. Someone with height, a bit of pace and an eye for goal. I think someone like Janko or Doyle would do well. Also think a defensive midfielder is needed, Hartley is past it. I mentioned this on another thread, but i think we should look at Orlando Engelaar. 6'5, plays for Schalke. Was the big * for Holland in Euro 2008. he only got 20 games for Schalke this season and they have no euro football next season. Would be about 5mill i reckon though, but well worth. it. Think a LB would be good, maybe someone like Atouba and a centre half, maybe. Just some ideas. Think that would give us a strong, dangerous team. Reckon all in, we could get it all for 11mill or so. Given we will make about 4 minimum in players leaving, means wer only spending about 6-7. * it, I can dream.

No the current team isn't good enough, signings have to be made, for a start we've been desperate for a left-back for seasons because Naylor's useless.

I think if Mowbray is the new manager then alot of the current squad will look like new signings next season. I think he will bring the best out of Maloney, Brown, McGeady, McCourt, Crosas, Caddis and maybe even Donati.

It doesn't hide the facts that alot of our players were terrible last season and should be moved on, e.g., Naylor, JVOH, Hartley, Samaras and McDonald.

I think we need someone creative to give us a spark now that Naka has gone but hopefully someone with a better all round game.

I agree with a lot of posts saying we need 2 or 3 three quality strikers, preferable tall and fast.

Last but not least, a decent LB which we have required for a long time now.

I think we could fill these positions with quality players that would improve the team for about 12 million.
