i'm sad at the news, (The SPL teams will be feeling better for not having to play against him anymore), but if we can bring in 3 younger players for £10,000 a week that should the gap. Still I won't be happy seeing him wearing a blue shirt

I'm totally gutted that the big man has left , he was the heart and soul of celtic and always gave 110% for the club and the team.

Unbelivable that the Celtic board "Build in" these clauses into the contracts and a striker who is easliy a £1.5 Million player is allowed to leave the club for ZIP .....:31:

Best wishes to a man who gave so much to the club and played such a significant part in Larsson's success!
Wish him all the best at Birmingham, they have landed a class act!

It wasnt a clause, it was mutual consent

When I think of Sutton I'll always remember:

His brilliant chip over Klos in injury time to complete the Green and Whitewash in 2003/2004.

His deput against Rangers - he scored a brace and we won 6-2. His first goal coming after 50 seconds.

His volley against Juventus in the 4-3 game.

His header against Ajax in the 3-1 game.

Just a few of my great memories of big Sutty.

Hail! Hail! big man, your a legend :ynwacelti

:50: And he has scored the fastest ever goal in only old-firm match I think it was 15-seconds or 17-seconds but we lost that game 3-2-at Ibrox, Still what a player Sutton is, Three players into one Defender+Midfielder+Striker,Just hope he can still do the business in the Premiership remember when he played for Chelsea he played over 30-Odd-games but only scored 1-goal so lets hope when Sutty plays he scores the winner against his old club Chelsea now that would be great:84:

Got this off BBC-Sport-Scotland Sutton has cost a total of-£21-million pounds in transfers-Fees over his career now thats a lot!

:55: [IMG] here's the link also to the story

    Norwich (1991-94): 128 appearances, 43 goals
    Blackburn (1994-99): 161 appearances, 59 goals
    Chelsea (1999-2000): 39 appearances, 3 goals
    Celtic (2000-05) 199 appearances, 86 goals
Birmingham have completed the signing of Celtic striker Chris Sutton on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old has left the Bhoys by mutual consent and joined Birmingham in a deal that will keep him at the Blues until the end of the season.
"It's obviously a huge disappointment to lose a player of Chris' quality," said Celtic boss Gordon Strachan.
"The club has granted Chris his wish to move on and I would like to wish him all the best for the future."
Sutton joined Celtic for £6m in 2000 after an unsuccessful spell with Chelsea, and became a crucial part of one of the most successful sides in the Parkhead club's history.
He scored 86 goals in 199 appearances for Celtic, and won three SPL titles and four Scottish Cups, as well as playing in the Uefa Cup final in 2003.

After beginning his career at Norwich, Sutton became Britain's most expensive player in 1994 when he moved to Blackburn for £5m to form the famous 'SAS' partnership with Alan Shearer.
The transfer fee proved to be money well-spent as Sutton and Shearer's goals took Blackburn to the Premiership title in 1994.
Sutton left Ewood Park for Chelsea in 1999 in a £10m deal but the move did not work out, the striker leaving for Celtic at the end of the season having scored just three goals. He controversially won just one England cap, against Cameroon in 1998, after his refusal to play in an England B match caused then-coach Glenn Hoddle to doubt the striker's commitment. Sutton has also played at centre-back and in midfield. :55:

    GREAT PLAYER :ynwacelti

A player like Sutton leaving for nothing is a absolute disgrace,he is leaving by mutual agreement because of inept bussiness dealings and to free up the wage bill.* laughable.
