Some relations with us and Sunderland, seems any manager going for one job will be shortened odds for the other.

    I do like Martinez.

Dont think he has the presence of a Celtic manager. Not yet anyway.

if wikipedia is anyting to go by then it is martinez who is manager from today, here is a quote about martinez..............He took Swansea to the League One title in the 2007–08 season, taking them back to England's second tier division after a 24-year absence. It was announced on 31 May 2009 that he was to be appointed the manager of Celtic FC,

I know Martinez likes Celtic. Ive heard it a few times and last year when I was on my way home from Barcelona for the Champions League match, we all saw him and the Swansea team at the air port.....they took Swansea there as a 'treat' for doing so well. This has nothing to do with the thread but i typed it out before I relized it and can't be bothered deleteing it now:rolleyes:....im gonna bed and hopefully Bilic is in place in the morning:rolleyes:

Very good young gaffer his sides play lovely attacking footy and they aint scared to have ago as you saw in there cup run this season , might be too soon for him to come here but i would much rather him than some of the dross thats been linked ie Mark Mc gee , Would probs mean Jodri gomez would be coming here with him would be a massive bonus ,

if the betting is slow and theres not much money being punted it takes * all money to bring a price from 25 to 1 in to 2 to 1. bookies havent a clue. their just trying to make a few quid by quoting big moves in the market. they probably made their money already.

True, but that's because the bookies don't have to offer lay odds. :icon_mrgreen:

The fact that there's still proper money to lay at 5.1 on Betfair implies to me an actual rumour/story rather than just a couple of decent size punts at a bookie - i.e. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an article linking him with us in one of the morning's papers.

Course, having said that, the papers know even less about it than the bookies, so your basic point holds. :56:

    * sake - i'm reading in the various press that we've made an enquiry about David Moyes but on the other hand Roberto Martinez is the favourite. I don't know about any of yous * but i think that suggests that the neither the press or the bookies have a * clue who we'll get. There's a bit of a gap in quality when one minute we're looking at David Moyes and the next it's Roberto Martinez. It's like trying but failing to sign Kaka so just opting for Ross McCormick instead.

What i'm saying is, that if indeed we have made an approach to Moyes, there will be a * lot of managers who will have to turn us down before we look to Roberto Martinez.

£25 at 8/1 which is the highest price Martinez has been since Saturday doesnt even pay a years season ticket! If it is that reliable the guy would have put as much as he physically could on it....

And if you are looking for some controversy then Paddy Power have removed Leveins price! Are they just updating it?? Do they know something?? Haha :56:

Its amazing how people can get going at a whisper. The papers today are now tipping Martinez for Wigan should Bruce go to Sunderland.

Swansea manager Roberto Martinez has held talks with Celtic regarding replacing Gordon Strachan, Setanta Sports News understands.
The SPL giants are searching for a new manager after Strachan left the club last Monday.
The Bhoys have been linked with Owen Coyle, Tony Mowbray, David Moyes, Craig Levein and Mark McGhee amongst others.
But Setanta Sports News sources say that the Spaniard has had contact with the Glasgow club.
Martinez steered the Welsh side into an eighth-place finish in The Championship last season after winning League One in 2008.
The former Real Zaragoza midfielder has experienced Scottish football before having spent a short spell at Motherwell in 2001.
