    he has played his part for our club like most others and yeah he has been unlucky with injuries but you cant question his commitment when he played so yeah good luck to the big guy if hes going

    I liked big Jan but you have to wonder at a club willing to sign a striker who doesn't seem to have the ability anymore :rolleyes: I agree he's done well for us in the past and I wish him all the luck in the world.

    PSV Eindhoven general manager Jan Rekers claims the Dutch club are not set to offer Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink a move out of Celtic.
    It had been reported the striker was under-going a medical with his former side, but that has been dismissed.
    "I can confirm we have not spoken to Jan, his agent or his club," said Rekers.
    The striker has insisted he wishes to remain at Celtic for another season, but it seems unlikely the Hoops will take up their option of a one-year extension to his contract.

    Vennegoor scored just six goals last season, while a spate of injuries appears to have taken a toll on his mobility.
    Shunsuke Nakamura is also out of contract, and Yokohama Marinos are hopeful they will win the race to re-sign their former star as early as next week.
    Espanyol and Celtic had made offers to the 30-year-old midfielder, with the Hoops reported to have included a clause which would allow him to move back to the J-league any time he likes.
    But today Naka's agent, Robert Takuda, told reporters in Japan: "I'm not allowed to go into detail about the discussion process, but the initial talks (with Yokohama) were very positive and we are moving in the right direction."
    Meanwhile, former Celt Malky Mackay has told the Parkhead club that the English Championship is the ideal place to pick up an ambitious, hungry young manager.
    Celtic have been thwarted in their advances for Davie Moyes and Owen Coyle so far, and Mackay believes they may have to cast their net further.
    "You find that a lot of Championship managers move on to top jobs," he said. "Paul Jewell ended up doing very well, and the best example of the lot is Davie Moyes.
    "So it shouldn't always be the case you bring in a top foreigner and expect it just to work."
