I'm sure it's closer to 50 grand a year mate.

Who was the manager at Everton? I would not play for that * either and now Big Slaven can get his own back:50::icon_mrgreen:

To be fair he does have a brilliant eye for talent, as fae as the transfer market/he's never signed a player argument goes. He brought up Modric, Corluka and Eduardo from Croatia's Under-21's to the senior squad and it was their international success that got them signed by big clubs.

Besides, all he has to do is say "I want that player, what's the least we have to pay for him?" If the player is within our price range then he gets signed. It's virtually the same thing only we have to pay money. It's not like he negotiates the contract and fees, Lawwell does that.

I just don't see why there would be a problem in the transfer market, because he's got a great eye for young talent which is where we're pooling our resources.

He gets £2m a year at Croatia, which is double what Strachan was gettin here. £38k a week then, still far too much.

But look at the character of the manager, he swaggers about as if he is the business. With money he "done a Bobo" to get. He played for Everton, signed a 4-year contract. Only played 30 games wasn't good enough they tried to sell him a few times but he sat for TWO YEARS without playing a match and collecting hi £27,000 a week until forcing a pay-off of £500,000 to leave a year early.

If he were to make a mess of things which is 50/50 as he has no club experience, no transfer market experience and no SPL experience. Then he wouldn't just leave he would wait to be sacked and handed a big pay out.

A lot of Bilićs success could be down to the fact his players are, you know, the Croatian international team. You wonder how he would cope with Samaras ,Naylor etc on a day to day basis.

Saying that, he plays guitar so is fine by me.:50:

And if the reports are true that Bilic earns only a relatively paltry £80,000 a year (double his previous salary), that offer may prove irresistible.

Thats what I wa aware of regarding his wages but if you are right then I bow to your superior knowledge mate haha.:50:

Well, Coyle wont be coming and been told to stay away from Mowbray, so it looks like we are left with him, lets at least talk to him.

Is that post a joke? Or did you just make that * up?

It is extremely well documented that bilic only earns 50k a YEAR at croatia!! Thats 1k a week! and he definately was not on that money as a player!

Last year he turned down advances of other clubs who would 20x his salary to finish what he wanted to do with croatia!

Batch is talking so much sense (among others). People should go back and read a few of his posts.

Why is Bilic now the saviour of Celtic? He is promising but he is as much, if not more, of a risk than Mowbray or Coyle.

if we end up with Bilic or any other candidate, at the end of the day there's no guarantee of success at all.

Bilic doesn't have any experience on club level, that's true. but I doubt he would be much worse than an average manager like Coyle. he's one of the biggest prospects in europe. as I said, Coyle or Bilic, no one can guarantee success - they ain't on level with the likes of Hitzfeld, Mourinho, SAF, Hiddink etc.

Bilic's appointment would bring soo much to the club and especially us fans: excitement!!

how long have we been waiting for something exciting? we have been watching dull football, dull transfers, dull manager candidates, dull results all the time. a guy like Bilic would really be a mega event. everybody would talk about him. can you imagine the joy among us celtic supporters if we could get him? the buzz, the excitement a man like Bilic brings with him?

no need to say 99% of celts would be finally reunited again. even I could believe in our board again.

Bilic is a young, sympathetic, modern and dynamic Manager with great charisma. his contacts in several countries could be priceless too. he's a man of the world, everybody respects him.

even if I got Bilic and we wouldn't be successful, his presence at CP would make me very happy as a celtic fan - something I haven't been for a long time now.

Good post mate - he'd bring a right good buzz to Parkhead again, that's all I've been saying there would be no guarantee of success so he shouldn't be hyped up quite as much as he is just now :50:
