the ipod i have got has a broken screen , you cant see what your doing .
i got it off my pal , it works and plays music , i just want to be able to reset it so i can put it on my computer and put my own music on it .
i held the centre button in for 15 seconds and it looks like it has reset because the background light went off but its still not letting me connect it too my computer . it comes up a wee balloon at the side something like " USB not reconized " something like that .
i take it this is the problem of using an ipod which has been used on one computer and trying to use it on another one .
can anyone help because im going on holiday in less than 3 days and want to have music for the plane , beach etc .?
    Thanks :celt_2:

it depends on what ipod you have

either : hold both menu and centre buttons until apple appears
or (ipod touch) hold home and lock button down

dunno if it will definately help

sounds like the usb cable/port on the ipods *, theres no such thing as ipod drivers that you an instal or uninstal, ipods dont come with software, you plug it in and it downloads itunes automaticaly

try the cable, then if not youl need to get the port checked, poundland sells retractable ipod cables, surprisingly for a pound
