i think that if we do get a new manager i think we should change the formation because i think that 4-4-2 has become far too predictable and it just means that teams can play 5 in midfield to stop us playing. i like the idea of 4-3-3

 

wouldnt mind sein the return of the old 3-5-2 but we would ned sum wing backs who can defend 4-3-3 would be doable and more affordable. could have mick, caldwell and loovens at the back

2 full backs bombing forward when we have the ball so it effectively becomes 5 in midfield. Sub Hinkel for Caddis when he gets tired/the opposition get tired.

Brown and Shikabala (that Egyptian we were linked with) taking turns going forward and Crosas sitting back pulling the strings. Tidser can fill the Brown role when he needs to come off and Maloney replacing Shikabala.

Fletcher holding the ball up just behind the strikers to allow midfielders to get forward, to link midfield with attack and to allow the strikers to stay in the box (where they should be!!)


Think McGeady, Mark Brown and some older players (Robson, Hartley etc) along with some reserves will be sold to raise funds for signings

and a good attacking midfielder..i know we'll probably never spend this much but were going to have to cos at the minute nobody can truthfully say they are loving the football thats on display.

enough of this holding back on spending to get the club less and less out of debt, at the end of the day, we the fans dont care at all, if we were 20 million in debt but got 4 or 5 class players and were getting to the last 8 of the champions league and trouncing every scottish team every week, nobody would even be thinking about how were doing financially.

Also, its not as if were that poor a club, were in the top 20 richest clubs on earth. Really hope the board gets the finger out this year

This is not the line-up I want but when we get the new manager (who I think will be Mowbray) this is his line-up or close to it.

I really hope that I am wrong and we sign a decent CM that will allow Brown to drive through the middle. I also think that Maloney will have to play in the same side as McGeady because we do not have the money to bring in a player more creative than these two. I really hope that Hartley is released along with Venegoor of Hesselink. I would prefer Loovens to McManus but I don't think Mowbray or 2nd choice McGee would have the same opinion. I think it is really unrealistic to think that we could afford to bring in some of Newcastle's better players and when we sign the inevitable Domestic Manager they will stick to low key signings such as Fletcher and maybe McCarthy from Hamilton. I still honestly believe that this is a better team man for man than the huns and with the aid of a manager that can play attractive and effective football we will regain our status of champions.
