that's a very extreme and idiotic thing to say
what ever happened to we are celtic supportes faithful through and through?
Nacho Novo could be the manager and I would still love this club
Who gives a toss who ticks the right boxes bla bla bla if he comes here and does a great job for the club? Give the guy a break

    1. He seems a great man manager for a start, getting an average team to the premiership with hardly spending a penny.

    2. He would be a great at communicating with the fans through the media, I was really impressed with the way he has handled the press while at Burnley.

    3. His team plays football the right way and the way most Celtic fans are desperate to see return to parkhead.

    4. He can identify players on the cheap which can only be a good thing.

    5. Hes a Celtic fan, which will win over a section of the support straight away. Like it or not.

I think if he is appointed then we need to unite behind the team, we don't want half the fans saying hes pish before hes been given a chance, FFS.

The job of being Celtic Manager is one of the most prestigious jobs in european football despite the crap league we play in

as much as we need a relatively fast appointment, shouldnt we wait to see who throws their hat into the ring or indeed applies directly to Celtic for the job?

i think it would be quite hasty to move to appoint someone so quickly on the back of him getting a championship team promoted and being a tim

lets calm down and see who is available. you will find there are many top drawer coaches would walk over broken glass for the Celtic job

Yes but how many top coaches are gonna want to take control if the board give them only 6 or 7 million to rebuild the team? I think most of the big names may run a mile when they see the budget they have.

It would be so unbelievably crazy tp appoint a guy with one season above Scottish first division level, absolutley no experience of a winning team. No top level experience anywhere, no European experience at all, not even expereince as a player at any sort of level. His career CV makes WGS look like Maradona as a player and Alex Ferguson as a manager. Suddenly Mogga etc dont scare me as much. Basically Desmond and Lawell would have had to be in the middle of a whisky distillery tour holiday in Strathspey to think this is a good idea. It would set the club back a decade IMO as COyle has to learn from his mistakes at top level SPL and in Europe. Actually it is so nuts that I do not believe its true.

If he was a free agent and wanted a budget of 10k
wouldn't put it past the board mate :54: :56:

If this is true it spells an intention of penny pinching and lack of ambition from the board.

Coyle would not command a huge wage package.
What will have interested the Celtic board will have been his ability to get the most out of a group of average players: It is hugely likely that our squad for next year should this be true, will consist of players of similar ability.
He has also got Burnley promotion to the Premiership on a net profit transfer budget.

Again if this is true - expect minimal spending and hardworking average footballers for the next few seasons. Very little progress

Just heard on Clyde 1 that Coyle has been offered the job and Celtic are drawing up a financial package for Burnley. This looks to be real but you never know Clyde 1 have spouted some amount of * in the past.

i fear that the board make the wrong move in an effort to appease a large section of the support who cant see past the whole, has to be a tim, thing

that would be the cheap option, in every aspect and thus i fear it may happen

Owen Coyle’s expected to confirm he will be the next Celtic manager.

Parkhead chief executive Peter Lawwell's already offered the Burnley boss the job and he's set to give him an answer before a compensation package is discussed with his club.

Coyle's stock's risen after leading his side to the Premiership, but he's keen to take charge of his boyhood heroes

if he is confirmed I think we should all give the guy a chance. He isn't a mug and I think he will only take the job if he beleives he can be a success.

nail on head. Its actually an insult. Most fans have the sense to want the best not a fan in the dugout. Its an insult to most fans because it basically says 'they are stupid so just make sure its a Celtic fans and that will keep the hoards happy. Well I and plenty others are not that backwards that we would rather have a one season wonder fan who has never dealt with the top leagues in Britain than some guy with 10-30 years experience as a manager in top ;leagues. Serioulsy, take away this scrape intpo promotion this season from his CV and this would be like signing Craig Brewster. Please * dont let it be true:31::54::54:

I'm not Lawell, if they put Coyle in the job then we need to back him or we'll be * for next season before a ball is kicked.

Once the decision has been made, its been made.

Not like you to be so knee-* gunt. I don't know if you're aware of the level of achievement Coyle has so far in a fledgling career?

If we don't bring him in now we'll have missed the boat and he'll have set his sights higher than the SPL.
