I reckon that there has to be a powerful force behind our very existence but I'm not sure which form it takes. The bible is simply a book of morals created by those considered to be our superiors (in times past) to controll the masses and continues to be perpetuated until this day. We can't even take what's written in the bible as fact for a number of reasons.

    1. It's been retranslated literally thousands of times by different individuals and original meanings may have been lost.

    2. Every religion takes and uses the parts it wants to fuel belief systems.

    3. What was initially written or documented in the first place might not have actually happend in that if you put a 100 people in a crowd and ask each of them to describe an event in their own words each will give you a different perspective of said event.

Churches are therefore in my opinion man made institutions created to teach morality . I don't deny that there has to be some force looking over us or at the very least controlling what's happening but whether it's benevolent and good or not I don't know. I suppose if religion gives comfort to so many then it's a good thing but paradoxically it can be a bad thing in that it turns man against man and is at the root of many evil acts.

    Brilliant post Jeannie. :50:
And I think the powerfull force is simply just nature.

Look at the destruction something like the Tsunami etc, can cause, more powerfull than any *. The other side look at the natural beauty that surounds us.
