Using Vista, I'm trying to install software from a disk. When I put the disk in, the following happens.

    • Autoplay opens, and I choose to run Autorun.exe.
    • A dialogue box opens, informing me that an unknown program want's access to my computer. It asks if I want to continue.
    • I click "Confirm".
    • The boxes close, and...
    • ...nothing.
The program doesn't install and nothing else happens. I went into My Computer and tried installing it from there, but everything from the dialogue onwards happens again, and the program doesn't install.

    Any suggestions?

Right click the exe file. Choose run as administrator. Problem solved. Maybe. :50:

Mate, next time post in the Computers & Gaming Section. A lot of the members in there will help you out and you stand a better chance of them seeing it in there.

    Moving to the correct section.

    Oops, sorry :52:

Cheers mate. I'm hopeless with anything that's not spelled out for me on the screen.

Right, trying to run the program and it's asking for DirectX 8.1 or later, despite me having installed it as part of the main installation process...

I've also got a pc problem. If someone could help it would be very helpful

    The Problem

    The Computer Problem.

The Computer at my Dad's house doesn't recognize the Disc Drives.I updated them in an attempt to try and install FM09,But now when I go into My Computer it comes up with

    Local Drive ©
    3.5 Floppy Drive (A) (Which I don't understand because it's a Dell Dimesion 3100 and it doesn't have a Floppy Disc Drive)
Free Agent Drive (D) (My External Hard-Drive,It's always Plugged into the Computer)
Craig's Documents (My Own Documents for My Profile)
Mike's Documents (My Dad's Documents for his Profile)
    Shared Documents.

There should also be another 2 disc Drives,On the Dell 3100,I've got the Normal Disc Drive which was with the Computer and I've also got a DVD-Drive.So these two items should show up in my computer but they don't.

    Can anyone Help.
