can WGS be trusted with anymore money in the summer? due to his bad judgement in buyin so many duds, do you think this would be a wise move?

He can be trusted to deliver us 3 titles(maybe 4 fingers crossed) then * yeah, SHOW HIM THE MONEY!!!!

 

I think he's proved we can trust him with the money he's had to spend and bringing home 3 league titles in 3 years.

 

I would rather have the duds than some of the * playing at hunvill.:bbpd:

 

Every manager buys duds, to them they look good players in the league they play in, but some just cannot adjust to the Scottish game.

Gordon Strachan has bought plenty of good players as someone listed above.

Exactly, every single manager has bought their fair share of duds, some where a lot more expensive failures than any of Strachans signings.

Most of the players Strachan has bought have contributed something in terms of either important goals/doing a job for us/re-sale value, so even although their Celtic careers would be classed as overall a failure they have still contributed something to the last 3 title wins.

As mentioned above he has done some great deals as well.

A bit of balance in the discussion between the positives and negative aspects of Strachans tenure would be nice

Even Donati who I think its fair to say is a dud, has made a very good contribution to the cause with his goal vs Shaktar

Some players just don't work out....Veron, Kleberson, Shevchenko... all top talents when they were purchased...

 

gawd show me a manager that hasnt signed a few dodgy ones? sheesh at least we didnt pay 12 million for flo or 5 mill for big bert konterman or 3 mill for prodan so i mean lets not get carried away eh

 

camara,aladiere,dion dublin,virgo, du wei,zurawski,gravesen,jarosic,sno, naylor (1 good season) jvoh,donatti,killen,samaras,miller.to say a few. stop lookin through the tinted specs and look at some of the performances.if its only results you look for,fair enough. i want to win, but win in style.playin football.

We didn't sign du wei long term, he was sent back to China after deciding not to take up the option on him.

Zurawski's goals in his first season were important to us, not the greatest but not a complete dud

Gravessen - were you not happy when he signed, I was, but for whatever reason things didn't work out, can't really blame Strachan for that one

Sno - decent enough player just not suited to our game, made a profit on sell on so still had some worth to us.

Jarosik - see gravesen above

Naylor - contributed a lot in his first season, been poor since, starting to improve again, rather we had another left back but not a complete dud.

JVoH - scored some important goals for us, has contributed greatly, having a bad season with injuries, also Skippy plays better when partnered with JVoH not a dud imo

Samaras - got off to a flier, hasn't been same since his injury, scored some important goals for us this season.

Donati - had some good performances but overall poor, his CL goal was worth his weight in gold to us.

Miller - made substantial profit on sell on, performance wise missed way too many chances for me but was moved on quickly.

Killen - signed as 4th choice at best but yes dud.

camara,aladiere,dion dublin,virgo - agree none worked out.
