What are your memories of Subbuteo ?

I spent an absolute fortune on that as a youngster, my favourite was the Belgium away kit

 

Stepping on all my mates players. Have that ya *

 

Games days just before the end of term in primary school where you'd have all the girls playing with barbies and * and all the boys in the class around one Subbuteo set playing a tournament that lasted hours and continued till the next games day lol...

I never had it my cousin did.

My memories are it taking ages to set up and then playing for about 2 minutes and crushing and breaking the wee guys.

 

mine was being pish at it and playing it on a table that was far too wee for the pitch, made it a * for taking corners

 

My old fella kept getting me subbuteo stuff .i,m thinking it was for him coz i thought it was pish

 

a got it for christmas a few times. never liked tbh

 

Did anyone play Pro-Action Soccer (i think that was it)? It was like Subuteo only the players had magnets under them and the ball was magnetic, and you had to push them down to kick the ball. Was way better tbh

 

they use to be the damage, use to play it all the time as a wee guy think I still have a set in the loft.....

 

can only remember zola wae a big head

 

Always ended up breaking the wee players lol oops used to love that game.

 

I remember my cousin having that and always going to his house to play it, cant for the life of me remember the name but it was alot better than subbuteo.

My girlfriend bought me Subbuteo last Christmas as a joke, I still havent had it out the box.

I've been in a league and have been invited into another. Don't think I'll get involved though as it's so serious with the rules and regulations.

i stll have the world cup edition in loft, with the jules Remet trophy and the floodlights etc, never used it, my memory is of kneeling on players, it was * sore, and i use to paint some of the teams, i painted all the scotland team of 79, including those who wore socks at ankles etc, but my memory is of kneeling on players. * i remember buying the IRAN team in 78!

 

i got it for my christmas when ah was about 18, bit of a * take as i had wanted it every year till then!!

I did have supercup football, think its different from the magnetic one, i loved it, just persuading my sister to play it with me was the annoying aspect !!!
