it wasnt the most difficult of opportunities, if he'd of ran by 2 or 3 and smashed it into top corner then he would have the highest confidence in the world right now but at least its a start

Samaras sent the keeper the wrong way on a pk. Nothing special sure but considering how bad he has been recently it's baby steps and hopefully this might be just the boost he needs to score the winner in a vital World Cup Qualifier. If we could have him anywhere near he form he had in the first 15 games before he got injured (playing for Greece I might add) then that would be massive for us.

Even although it was only a penalty the fact that he actually found the back of the net will surely give him a bit of confidence that he can hopefully carry with him on Sat.

I hope it will increase Samaras confidence. for the part of the league it would be nice if we had 2 hot (or at least on normal form) strikers.

He should have got out his moby, taken a picture of the back of the net, got it developed, enlarged, put up on his bedroom wall and written on it "So thats what this looks like!"

good to see in the paper today that samaras is being labeled a 'hero' for greece after scoring the winner, hopefully it sends his confidence up a bit and he can get a goal or two at the weekend
