You just can't see Benitez ever winning the EPl for them. Even though his record is in some ways good there comes a time when you've got to try something or someone else.

Agreed. His whole football philosophy seems to be wrong for the English game. 2 holding midfielders and 1 up front will nick you great results in Europe, but over 38 games against packed defenses you need goals and his teams just don't score enough.

 

So is this the end for Liverpool with the likes of Gerrard & Carragher not getting any younger where in the team can players stand up and be counted. I fear with the clinch United have on English football and a rejuvenated Chelsea Liverpool wont be able to catch up and we all know that this is only a small blip in Arsenals title challenges for now i have no doubt they will come out stronger and with Aston Villa being the only team able to break the big four this i feel is the final few nails on Liverpools coffin. In three or four years time i fear Liverpool will be battling it out for Uefa cup spots. Unless something is done quick Liverpool will forever be living on past glories. Lfc Rip

Benitez is too cautious in his selections and tactics to win the Premiership. You can get away with being cautious in Cup competitions and thats why Liverpool do so well in them(particularly in the Champions League). It's no good for winning Championships though as you end up drawing too many games. And that's Liverpool's problem they draw too many games. Until Benitez gets a bit more attack minded I don't see Liverpool winning the Premiership.

I'm afraid to say it's all over. Man Utd will never surrender a lead like this, they're only now hitting top gear.

Rafa is as much to blame for surrendering the lead after being 5 points clear only just over 2 months ago.

It had been agreed that discussions over his contract would be in the summer following what was hopefully to be a successful Premiership campaign - why did he make public his desire to thrash out terms in the middle of the season just because they were top of the league??

He has done well in patches, who can argue with his European record, but he hasn't been close to a title yet which is not good enough.

Get Martin O'Neill in there - or Jose Mourinho and I guarantee they will be in the mix at the business end of the season!!!
