He might be in the twilight of his career, and not the player he once was, but if we can sort out a decent package to bring him to the club, then why not. The experience and knowledge he could bring to the club as well as helping out with the younger players would be great, and I would love to see him in the Hoops playing against the Sons of Satan!!!

 

If Roy signs i'd welcome him but if he does'nt i won't lose sleep over it and i doubt Strachan will. It's be a good signing if the price is right.

I think madrid have bought in2 Sky Sports always saying the English Premiership is the best in the world cos they sure sign plenty of players from it in recent times. Still they could do worse than Keane.

 

Keane would be great and would be feared by the rangers * he would give the huns players a few broken bones and rightfully so

 

I'd be very surprised if he leaves for Real Madrid because he has gone on about joining Celtic for years and years, now he has his chance, and not take it? Not like Keane to do the opposite of what he says. Now he also has a young family that I doubt very highly that he'd want to uproot for 2-3 years of football. The language barrier would be another, have you heard spanish with a cork accent?? He has also said he doesnt want to return to the premiership.

 

If the money is there to tie up Petrov for another 4 years, sign Pienaar and give Keane and a lot of Celtic fans their wish we should go for it. If not, we should ditch the Keane dream. Then the Pienaar hope. And turn our attentions to sorting out the team's engine

Looks like Keane, the diehard Celtic fan, has chosen one last fat pay cheque over playing for his boyhood heroes.
Oh well, would have liked to see him in the Hoops, but he's past his best, and as Big Jock said the jersey doesn't shrink to accomodate inferior players.

If he's a so called "lifelong Celtic Fan" Money wouldn't even be an issue , He's a VERY VERY wealthy man.

How many normal "lifelong celtic fans" would turn down a chance to play with Celtic , I'd sell my first born for the chance.

And on the money side , I would be bending over backwards to make sure Stan stays at Celtic and gets the money he deserves, They done it with Larsson , Harston, sutton and Blade.

Finally If Keane wants to come GREAT I'd love to see him playing against the Orcs, but it's got to be because he's a "lifelong Celtic Fan" and not £XXXXX amounts of money !!!
