They'd probably continue sharing with Airdrie at the Excelsior

The deal is if it were to happen the team would not be allowed to enter the cup competitions.

As for where it would be played, would it not be Airdrie's stadium?

Edit: To the guy who said they'd get to the SPL, the rule would also be the same as in Spain with the 'B' team unable to be promoted into the Premier league.

I really hope this happens. I think this would be a great benefit for Celtic. Especially if we did well enough to get promoted up as far as the first division over time. Of course the reserve league will be no more come the end of this season. But this would be better anyway as these would be real competitive games with an extra edge as the smaller clubs would get up for playing Celtic teams plus our younger and reserve players would get way more games playing a full league programme rather the smaller number of games the reserve league has.

I wonder how it work though in terms of player eligibility compared to now when sometimes first team players play in the reserves when coming back from injury and when sometimes reserve players are on the bench and play a bit with the first team.

If this all comes to fruition I just hope the tin men at CP do not see this as another way to fleece our fans who pay through the nose as it is.

What I mean is whatever day the first team plays so should the reserves.

Im pretty sure if this came off ,i dont think they would be allowed promotion ,maybe up one division but thats a doubt ,and it is obvious this will happen due to the reserve league coming to an end .

There are plenty of ways of ensuring they don't meet us in the cup too. Make sure the B teams are paired first.

Promotion to the same league as the A team is not allowed.

In Spain in the A team is relegated to the same division as the B team the B team simply gets bumped down a peg. This happened to Real Murcia 2 years running! They went form the first to the third in 2 years and their B team got bumped down twice, despite having been in promotion positions both times.

Also, Real Madrid B (then known as Castilla) reached the spanish cup final in the 80s.

All round I think it's a good idea for everyone and be in no doubt that the pen pushers will come up with a million wee rules to make sure there's no clashes.
