Yes, because all these teams are better, but they were not so succesfull in the last season. Moscow won the UEFA Cup, so Moscow have more points in this ranking (1st December 2004 - 29th November 2005). Barcelona and Chcelsea will be surely ahead of Moscow in the new ranking, because they will gain more points this season.

The fact Inter are top who have done nothing in the last year shows they are inaccurate.

These rankings are always screwed up. Inter are barely top 10 anymore imo but on the official lists they always rate high because they don't lose many games. Don't win many either of course which is why i feel they can't b no.1. Those weho like a solid team would say they are consistant but those who prefer attacking exciting football(me) would say they are consistantly crap. Just watch how Bolton rise up the rankings in the near future. Dull to watch but consistant.

 

I think, that there are lot of methods and rankings, so everybody can take one of these rankings and public this ranking as official. You know, the biggest nonsense are the questions like "Who is the best team" a so... For someone is the best team Real Madrid or Chelsea, for someone else it's Barcelona and if you ask this question in Brazil, then somebody can say you for example Sao Paulo. The ranking in my first post is only the ranking based on "some" method calculating the results from 1st December 2004 to 29th November 2005. There is also many other rankings and methods, so take it easy, nobody is saying, that this is the "official" ranking. So please, don't say also, that "your" ranking (http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/...trank2005.html) is the offiacial ranking. I know, that this ranking is UEFA using to calculate many things such as seeding the club teams and national teams into UEFA competitions, but principle it's "only" some other ranking. There are also a load of nonsense, for example Valencia is second, or Chelsea is on place twenty behind Panathinaikos, Lazio and Parma... Surely is not Panathinaikos better than Chelsea. And in this ranking is also "my" club Artmedia Bratislava only on place 219 in the Europe behind many other clubs from Slovakia. For example, Slovan Bratislava (another club from Bratislava) is playing only the second slovakian league and is higher than Artmedia... Then also another club from Bratislava (Inter Bratislava) is on the last palce in the slovakian premier league and is higher than Artmedia... And also FC Kosice (the mafia club that relegated into the third slovakian league!!! and now exist no more), is on the same place as Artmedia...

 

If you want to find out the best current team look at the coefficents from thr 04/05 season.

However Uefa look at the past 5 season and Valencia have won Uefa Cups and reached 2 CL final as well as winning La Liga twice. That's why they are so high.

 

OK, but why was you so suprised, when CSKA moscow is on the second place in World Club Ranking, which is based on the results from 1st December 2004 to 28 November 2005. They won UEFA Cup last season. I think, that full objective ranking not exist. This UEFA ranking is based on five years long period and the real power of each team can be after five years abolute different. For example, the slovakian club 1.FC Kosice was playing CL group stages in season 1997-1998, but after four years they relegated to the third slovakian league and they was playing third league with the coefficient like some solid european club. This is everthing, what remain after this club - only one declaration about their end (http://www.1fckosice.sk). And also if you take some ranking based on very short time period, then some really good teams like Celtic for example, can have a very low coeffiecient because of only one really bad match this season (0-5 Artmedia) and no possible european points this season.
