Personally I do not understand why people have taken a huge dislike to Alan Thompson. When he first joined if i'm being honest I had a strong dislike for him, but through performances and more importantly his assists and impressive goal scoring record I now regard as one of the most important players in Celtic's history and a true legend.

51 goals in 5 and half years, 9 of which have been against Rangers. Also many of his goals have come in vital matches in the Uefa Cup and Champions League, Stuggart, Liverpool, Baracelona, Porto, Rosenborg, Bayern Munich, Shakhtar and the winning goal in Scottish Cup Final against Dundee United.

Many supporters are jumping on the bandwagon saying since last season he hasn't been as good but he still managed to score 10 goals and score the winning goal against Rangers, in the Scottish Cup Final and the winning goal in our only in win the Champions League. His level of performances haven't been as high as in previous seasons, one major factor being Larsson is no longer there looking for the ball down the left wing but he still remains an important player for scoring and creating goals.

His major downfall remains his discipline, which he has struggled with throughout his 5 years, hopefully Strachan will help him control this problem which O'Neill was unable to.

The aforementioned reasons are why we should continue to support a player that has given us so much joy over the years, yes his performance levels aren't as high as they once were, but if we start to support him rather than continually criticise him his performance levels may return to his previous heights. Whether or not his performance level return to that height, he still remains a vital source of goals.

I'd never boo a player in a Celtic jersey, never, but that wouldn't stop me giving out about a player if he messes up something he's capable of doing

I think Celtic Players playin badly should be Cheered everytime they touch The Ball and if they don't improve and enough is enough critism should be given behind The Scenes, I'll tell you one thing if there is a player that is not Celtic Class on The Pitch it's our Manager's fault for picking him, if there is a problem always investigate The Input of what caused it in the first place you'll get on better.

    A few poor games????????

Over all last season, and all this season so far, Thompson has had a one big poor spell of games, maybe its just that he is finished.

I will give you that he deserves better than that, and that he has been a fantastic servant to Celtic, THANK YOU THOMPSON.

However in my opinion it is time to say.

THANK YOU THOMPSON, THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES, GOOD LUCK, BYE BYE

PS: I love the guy and he has been brilliant for the club, but he hasn't got a right foot either, looses to much time overusing his right, he has to work more on his right.
