Whilst as Seville he was dropped from the NT as Daniel Alves kept him warming the bench. He joined Celtic over several Germans sides to get regular first team action, UCL football and most importantly, to him, back in the National Team.

NT drops him whilst not playing at Seville, recalls him after a season at Celtic. He's very much being chosen on what he's done here.

At the moment, Hinkel gets the nod ahead of Wilson for me

Hinkel has been capped far more times than Sheidt and has infinitely played better for Celtic. :bbpd:

Absence makes the heart grow fonder tbh. Do you remember Caddis vs Dundee United? Woeful imo

Telfer was a really good buy for us.

    I mean that sincerely.

i think hinkel has improved alot this year, but you very rarely get a foreign player who fits in right away. id hav him in my team before wilson.

I actually preferred Perrier-Doumbe to the other 3. I know he had some bad injuries, is he back for reserves yet?

well done HINKEL good to see our players getting a call up for there international teams its all in good terms as we look as if its an improvement to earlier days when we had ANDY THOM and he couldnt get a german manager to come and watch him never mind get a call up when he was at his peak at parkhead so ,well done many more to come hopefully we can see CROSAS soon in the spain squad too

Thing is every player needs a chance to settle and play their way in just some players adapt quicker than others but he showed ambition imo by choosing to come here unlike other players who look for the money . I have struggled to understand why he gets so much stick to be honest as his crossing is generally good and he makes himself available and doesnt hide

I like Hinkel. He is no super star but a solid player and has the right back slot nailed down at the moment. He has settled into the club and the team now and has been very consistent all season. I would say our second best defender after Caldwell.

Obviously the German national staff see some things they like and well given their track record thats good enough for me.

Just adding to what a lot of others have said he may not be the flashiest player, but he is solid, consistent and this season has been one of the few players in the team whose form hasn't been all over the place.

    He is a v.good player.

Coming from Spain he obviously found the pace to be frantic at best, but he has come on greatly this season and if we could just, from somewhere :31: get a decent left-back?

Good for Andreas. I hope he can improve his crossing, though.
