McGeady as a forward?

i think mcgeady will end up playing attacking centre mid as alink to the front 2. dont think its in his locker to play up front though.

Im sure i heard somewhere that McGeadys preffered possition is Central Attacking Midfield....

i dnt think he would be that gd as a creative centre midfielder cos 9 times out of ten he does the wrong thing (doesnt pass at the right time, dribbles too much). think hes better at getting to the byeline and putting crosses into the box. although, me personally, i would rather have maloney in the team, better all round player than mcgeady

I think in some circumstances McGeady would best be deployed up front. Although under Strachan my plan is kind of foiled.

Example being, say Man United at Old Trafford. We steal a goal on the stroke of half-time to make it 1-0 after a half of ManU dominance. I would suggest at some stage in the second half to play McGeady either off the striker or up front by himself (although with the heavy pressure expected "up front" wouldn't really be correct. More like "furthest player forward" as I'd expect our striker would be on the edge of our own third with the heavy pressure.

When we eventually win the ball on the break McGeady is probably our only player who can take the ball at his feet, hold it, and run into dangerous areas and take people on. It would take a lot of pressure off the defence methinks.

Apart from my speculated away game scenarios, theres no real reason to play him upfront at all I'm afraid.

he was * poor at old trafford mate prob worst player that night couldnt control hold the ball or even run with the thing so think that maybe a bad point there bud,,but i do agree on the fact he aint no striker ,better waiting on wee maloney coming back him and sammy or big jan could be the best partnrship we have at the present time,,,,

Not a man for the rough and tumble of playing against a pair of SPL centre halves. Would be elbowed out the game. Poor finisher. No heading ability at all. Can't jump.

I think our current attacking options when healthy offer us some good variety

Sammy and Maloney for style
Maloney for speed and intelligence
Mcdonald for physicality and some speed
Jan for strength
Jan and Sammy for height

the guy is the most skillfull player we have . stick him in the middle and let him pull the strings . it's easy to double up on him out on the wing or even foul him , however can you imagine the wee man running at some of the SPL's central defenders.
Can anyone else see him playing here ?
