FOUL-MOUTHED Gordon Ramsay has blasted Celtic striker John Hartson as a "waste of space" and compared him to a cut-price pudding.
The celebrity chef, who once played for the Welsh striker's Old Firm rivals Rangers was asked to name the 'caviar' of footballers from the beautiful game.
But after rating Arsenal's Ashley Cole and Brazil's Robert Carlos as among the best players in the world at the moment, the Glasgow-born chef who supports Rangers took a swipe at the Celtic striker and branded him a "waste of space."
Speaking to Maxim magazine, Ramsay,39, was asked what players were "the Beluga caviar on lobtser toast of footballers" at the moment ?
He replied: "I actually think the nucleus of the England World Cup squad is amazing.
"You've got all these fabulous players like Lampard, Gerrad and Terry.
"But for me Ashley Cole is such a wonderful player. In terms of world superstars, he will be the new Roberto Carlos in a couple of years."
However, when asked who the "Asda Smart Price Artic Roll players" were, Ramsay could name only one - Celtic's Welsh hitman Hartson.
He said: "Well I never really understood the point of John Hartson. A bit of a waste of space."
Ramsay, a former Glasgow Rangers player, says injury wrecked his career on the park.
Five years ago, Hartson was linked to a move to Rangers.
But the Ibrox side turned him down fearing he was injury-prone.
Months later Hartson joined ancient rivals Celtic and the Welshman has since scored eight times against the side who rejected him, including the opener in Saturday's 3-0 victory for Celtic.
Later this month, Ramsay's new DVD, Football * will be the shops and the disc reveals football remains the chef's first love.
He said: "If I'd had my way the most important F-word in my life wouldn't have been food it'd have been football."
    .
"I spent three years as a player at Ibrox. But sod's law, just as I made the first team squad I b******d my knee ligaments.
"I was a hard left-back like Stuart Pearce but much better looking. I would have kicked my own granny to win the ball.
"I have been in that dressing room when I used to play for Rangers. I've had a bollocking from one of the best managers in Europe.
"People say, 'Why did you leave?'. Well I had no choice. Back then if you had a gammy leg that was it. ":47: :47:

Despite the obvious sour grapes, I see his point.

Just ask him the name a Rangers player who has scored 100+ goals infact ask him to name a Rangers player who can score any goals.

Lets all get on the net and give his restraunts etc * reviews.

Cant agree with u - Hartson has scored at all the clubs he's been with - in the premier league with Arsenal, Coventry etc, with Wales and with us in the SPL and Europe - wot more do y want?
Ok he's not caviar but he's no where near Asda roll (this conversation sounds a bit silly)

I respect his goal scoring feats, just not my type of player. Agree to disagree. Compromise on Marks and Spencers Roll

I actually watched his reality show "*'s Kitchen". Not sure if it played over in Scotland. It was a decent show, but I never knew he was a former Ranker! What a total * sayin stuff about Hartson. I wont be watchin again if he has another one.

What comes around goes around Ramsay- your mean heart will be your demise.

personally i find hartson isnt just a player, he is one from "us". apparently he is not the greatest athlete in the world, but isnt that just the thing which makes him one of us. he goes to pubs, drinks, sings, like a celtic supporter.

some say he's overweight, if thats the case, so what? its cool seeing him scoring over 100 goals in spl an epl :50:

Yeah the big man hasn't done too bad with his 101 goals, including vital ones against the huns, which will hurt him the most, and a few en route to Seville.

BBJ's total transfer value is greater than the number of sh1tey hot dinners that prat has cooked. Ramsay is just bitter he never made it in football.

Ramsay is a great chef but his knowledge of scottish football has been diluted with his time down south so you cannot take anything he says about scottish football seriously and the way the media keep harping on about him being an ex rankers player is a nonsense as he was at the club 3 years and never kicked a ball for the first team and remeber he was a the club when they were * poor and were playing in front of 5 or 6 thousand fans.

So he neither knows football or cuisine at the end of the day. A true football fan, admires the skill of many great players, irrespective of the team he plays for (Except one of course). And a true chef should understand the needs of his guest, never seen chips, pie and gravey on his menu's. So he's both stupid and arrogant on both counts, but thats how he makes his money, by being a rude, bullying, * wipe. We all can pride ourselves on our team, players and knowledge that Ramsey not only talks crap, but serves it too. Be grateful that unlike the hun, atleast we dont pay for it :50: :ynwacelti
