Viktor Eriksson

Celtic are checking out Swedish centre half Viktor Eriksson in European action for Hammerby.

Boss Brendan Rodgers has sent top scout Paul Tidsdale to watch Eriksson against Belgian side Charleroi on Thursday night.

Eriksson has been a star for Hammerby on his return from a short spell with Minnesota in the MLS.

He is a straightforward defender who would give Celtic extra competition in central defence - and he is available at a bargain £2 million.

Celtic recently signed winger Benjamin Nygren and have a strong tradition with Swedish players.

 

Doesn't really make much sense given we have 5 centre backs on our books in CCV, Trusty, Simpson Pusey, Scales, Murray and then also Inamura who can cover there.

Watched a video of him and thought he looked like a carthorse. Slow as a weak in the jail.

That's misleading though. Over a 100 yard sprint you'd expect the 6ft4 guys to be hitting top speed so that's how he probably got there, I remember Jageilka was the fastest payers in the EPL one season but it just reads top speed, a centre back might have 5 or 10 yards to get to an attacker before its too late so acceleration is probably the more important marker here.

I don't think CCV is leaving, but i do think Welsh will leave and Murray will go out on loan.

I also wouldn't be shocked if one of Scales/Trusty leave.

 

Pavle is clearly a player who deserves more attention. He plays at an incredible level, honestly. Looks so * simple and elegant all the time while Viktor looks like a panting ox.

 

To be fair, I also found this comment from a Hammarby fan.
