  1. rather baylor to be honest

  2. The man proved his class in the CL final. Even at 35, he'll have more than enough class to cope in the SPL for a year or so.

    And as a CL winner (twice) his experience would prove invaluable for our Euro campaign.

    We've all heard the rumours for some time now, however I doubt the credibility of the source of this story.

    I've done a quick news search on www.google.es, and I can find no other Spanish sources for this recent 'development'.

    Fingers crossed though.

    So where in my post did you get the feeling i was taking your head off? :97:

    I was only backing up my point after you asked why i brought Weir and Daily's name into it.:50:

  3. give him a one year deal

  4. regarding my last post, I did find this on a Polish site, published only 45 minutes ago.

As player of barcelona won league of champion twice Sylvinho. "

  5. I'd love this to come to fruition. As mentioned earlier, a player like Sylvinho could offer a lot in the way of experience to young guys like Misun and Santonocito, as well as being a genuine first team player, at least for one season.

    Naylor can walk for nothing at the end of this season, so i'd like to see us punt him while we can get some dough.

    There's another source for this story on Yahoo;

    Noticias de Fútbol | Última hora - Yahoo! Eurosport

    Translation;

    Veteran Sylvinho, recently freed after not renewing his contract with FC Barcelona, has said that he is very close to signing an agreement for one season with Celtic. The Brazilian stressed that he is motivated by the opportunity to play in the Champions League.

    Fingers crossed!

  6. I'm sure he realised that it was your opinion, just try not to come across as being so dismissive and abrasive when posting :50:

  7. i was dimissive about weir and daily thats all. I wasnt abrasive in my post. Plus am not even dead set against him coming. Should calm down a little lol.

  8. Hye everyones entitled to their opinion but age isnt the same drawback to players nowadays and he is a quality player as he showed last season with barca and i am sure he will be a brilliant aquisition for us and i cant wait to see him here if this is correct

  9. Mundo Deportivo - Los movimientos del mercato, al minuto

    according to el mundo deportivo, sylvinho is set to join celtic...

    Sylvinho, said that he is close to sign a one-season contract with Celtic. The Brazilian has explained that he relishes the chance to play again in the Champions league.

  10. Hes getting on. I mean he would solve the left back problem for a while but after a year we would be right back at square one. We need to buy a LB at a decent age so the problem will stay solved for longer. If that makes any sense.

  11. No Shaun, I believe that the idea is to get a season from Sylvinho and by then Misun will hopefully be good enought to step up to the mark. There is high hopes for Misun.

  12. a treble winner last year with barca the best team in the world at present and there is people in here who have doubts if he would cut it in the spl:56::56::56: so what 35 and so what it might be only for a season get this bhoy signed end off quality player

  13. Do you want me to send you some commas and full stops:50:?:icon_mrgreen:

  14. TWO WORDS MATE

    Milan Misun

    Who better to buddy him than a twice CL winner?

  15. If David Weir can see out a full 90 mins every game and perform to a decent standard at the age of 39 in the SPL week in week out

    Then im sure that Sylvinho will have no problems !!!!!!!!!!!

    Infact he would probaly be one of our fittest players

  16. Nail on the head springs to mind! :50:

  17. After mulling this over for the last few hours I believe he would be a superb acquisition to mentor Misun whilst he is developing, he is a top top quality footballer and as long as he's not coming just to pick up the wage packet I'm sure he will do a 1st class job. I just hope that we get it sorted before tomorrow night as we will need him in Russia next week !!! :icon_mrgreen:

  18. if you watched the champions league final then you would know there is no arguement about if he is good enough or not. The guy was immense.

  19. whats the point? after a year we are going to be back to same scenario as just now with haveing to buy a lb!a year loan deal for a 35 year old ? just pay the money for cech and thatll be us for a few years ?
