Discussion in 'Transfer Rumours' started by lubo#1, Nov 19, 2007.

  1. Well someone had to start it.:icon_mrgreen:

  2. der has been a good it of talk about it alreay
    but while im here
i would liek to see him back as he adds something different and can also take a set piece, which i think we kinda miss without naka

  3. we need wide players and he was good for us i would like to see him come back, loads of fans dont want him back but for the price we would pay its good business.

try going across europe and find a better and younger player in the 1m bracket.

  4. I would rather have Shaun Moloney than Shaun Maloney any day .....

you mean a better player for 1m than an almost 25 year old aston villa bench warrior?

  6. don't have such a short memory, maloney has done a job for us in the past and could very well in the future

I don't think this will ever happen, and tbh im pretty indifferent to whether it does or not now. He was a quality player and did well for us that season, but im sure its not his home sickness thats keeping him out the Villa team.

    We can get better imo.

  7. aye he'd be the same guy who got player of the season the last full season he spent with us.:86:

looks like you are an optimist and I'm a pessimist :icon_mrgreen:

anyway he made his bed, now he must lie in it.

I'd personally love to see Maloney back. A Celtic squad with him in it, is a stronger Celtic squad imo.

  10. take him anyday

  11. Take him back like a shot. Great player at the wrong team and in the wrong frame of mind. We are very very short of wide players. We only have 2 and no back-up.

  12. totally agree!

Wouldn't even entertain the idea and that's disregarding any bitterness over the way he left. Reeked of 1 season wonder from minute 1, isn't good enough for Celtic long term and McGeady is ten times the talent he is.

If Strachan doesn't take him he'll drift away to a mid table Championship side and that's the level he deserves to be at.

  14. Glad we agree on something Keltoi, i was gettin worried for a bit. Wee Shaun is a great lad and a very good player, he made a mistake, don't we all.

  15. Don't want him back. If he can't hack it at Villa, why should we resign him? He moved to a smaller club for 2 grand a week more and when he can't get a game he is desperate to come back. The only way i would sign him is if he went back on the wages he was on before he moved.

  16. I'd agree on the wages thing swoop, he must bite the bullet there. As with not getting his game with Villa he made a grave error, O'neill was never going to play him, weird decision. On the wages thing i thought we offered around 16 where as he got 22 at Villa. All speculation though eh.

  17. Pah, if he really wanted to come back to Celtic he should take a small pay cut to what he was on. That'd show if he had any commitment and genuine want to play for The Hoops.

  18. Surely you meant the wages he was offered before he left and not the 8 grand or so he was on swoop?
Thats what i thought you had written at first glance.

  19. that is a condition i would take him on aswel SV, r what he was gonna be offered, not more then he was on now
