I think consistency is his problem.

Before his injury he ran at the oppositions goal and now he runs away from it for some reason.

Couple of games ago he had the ball about 25 yards from goal and ran back to passed it straight to the goalkeeper...

I like him, but i think i like him pre-injury.

He's starting to grind my gears now with his negative approach to games.

I like the big man, but i don't know whether it's confidence or what, but he's been shockin the last couple of months.
RIDICULOUS how much he dithers on the balls. He needs to get the finger out soon

he only seems to put a shift in when there is real pressure. like when he was on loan with us and needed to prove that he was worth a deal.

think confidence has alot to do with it. very fustrating player to watch and probably to play with.

Let's face it, Samaras is good against lesser teams like I said before. He not terrible but not great. He went through a good run earlier in the season when the team were playing some nice football but it was against Motherwell, Falkirk, Hamilton etc that we were scoring all our goals against.

Samaras couldn't do it for Greece, couldn't do it at CL level and would appear can't do much against the top SPL teams. OK, he scored against the huns but he was poor that day as well.

He needs to add a lot to his game and if I'm being honest, I don't see him improving much. Hope I'm wrong. I wouldn't put him down as a bad signing either. Just a squad player who didn't cost much and good for when we have injuries. Unfortunately it would seem VoH is always injured and Samamas has become number one choice which isn't good enough for us.

how can people sit here and criticise big sammy when at the start of the season he was the first name of everybodys team sheet! the big man came back from in jury had a few stinkers and instead of the fans getting behind him to boost his confidence so he can get back to his best and do the stuff that destroys teams samaras is the most mobile striker at celtic most skillful and imo all round better than mcdonald and hesselink he's having a bad time just now yes but do you all remember vennegoor last season! went through a rough patch and mcdonald at the start of this season few goals to jog your memory

Gorgeous Sam is not the answer. Van the Man and Skippy are much better partnership. Now i know why my Work mates who are city fans laughed at us in the summer for signing him.......

when hes good he makes it look so easy & classy but when hes bad you'd think he had the wifes high heels on playing on ice , its no good when you dont know what to expect from the guy & a think wee skippy is getting fed up with him so i'd prefer big jan for consitency & more to offer the whole team although a also think its time spent a few quid on a REALLY top class striker before we throw this league title over to the gers !

Before his injury he was well on his way to the POTY trophy and was walking the top goalscorer charts. He was truly immense and people have been very quick to forget this.Ever since his injury he has been disappointing he just seems to have lost that spark and confidence.A spell on the bench wouldn't do him any harm but he is far from a * player.

Ive always thought he was a bad player even through that run of goals he had. He's never been consistent.
The guy is shocking. 1.2million * away.

For all the bad Sammy has done he has scored vital goals that have helped us to top the table. He needs to find that turn of pace he's shown before and the touch like the wee flick over the defence for Naka. He's shown it before, he needs to find form and fast or his career with us will be in doubt.

Some people are so * ungrateful!

He's scored important goals last season and scored plenty this season. And for a £1m? That buys you nothing in football these days!

He's a bargain and a fantastic piece of business!

Having said that, he is by no means a complete striker - lacking in touch and strength in particular. But he is not warranting all this abuse! :38:

Yes but did you also laugh at your mate when they'd signed Robinho and were still in the bottom three?

Samaras will find his form again, his stats prove that he won't go long without scoring.
