I thought Sammy played really well today and I'm pretty surprised alot of people are critisizing him...

Thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thought of his performance yesterday...

He had good moments and bad moments. I wouldn't say he played well, but he was only as bad as the rest.

Can't believe people thought he played well yesterday. That day at Ibrox, he was immense, no getting away from that but he hasnt ever looked like scoring since then.

They were * as well, the whole team was * barr maybe Kayal and Wilson. To start Samaras was ridiculous, Smith and McCoist must of * their pants at Lenny's stupidity, he put our worst performing striker this year (look at his goals this year, 2 or 3 is it?) on for our best striker...

Rule 1 of football, you need good players.

Does the hard bits then cant make a simple pass when he gets into a good position. Final ball is awful. Trys to do too much and frustrates the * out of his team mates and the fans. Hooper must hate playing up front with him coz he doesnt get a * pass off him. Sammy is a lone striker and should be used as this only.

Think he had a bad game but not the worst player on the pitch

I thought Sammy gave it a go. He was clueless at times but the team as a whole were * so no point singling anyone out. Apart from Ledley's goal there were very little positives to take from the game. Coming to think of that it was Sammy's header that set Ledley up for it so that was an assist from Sammy. More than the rest of the team done surely.

What did you think he done "really well" ? As you all ready new most people could see he was cleary of form, but hooper was worse.
Why did you need it confirmed that sami didnt play well in pacticular? although i said no i felt bad because i would have said no about most if not them all.

He didn't win enough of his headers and that meant the ball often just came back at us. He slowed it down when he could have ran at the defence, and made the wrong pass selection too many times.

    Not his day

So one assist makes up for a poor performance? Very high expectations.
This is a strange one because people were only giving there oppinions on the team, sami name kept coming up unfairly, i agree, but you are the only one to defend one of them.
Lets not dress it up ALL THE PLAYERS lacked fight not just sami. Not having ago, just a civilized debate :celt_2:

He gave is all yesterday, can't fault the shift he put in and he was involved in our goal. His final ball let him down at times but there's only a handful of Celtic players who didn't put in an under-par performance yesterday. It's very easy to blame Samaras, as he seems to become the scape-goat after these results but it wasn't him that switched off during that quick free-kick.

    I said "for one"

I thought he looked pretty good on the ball and dont recall him ever losing it cheaply unlike the rest of our team

The reason Im singling him out is because ive read so many posts on here saying that sammy is atrocious and I honestly dont think he is.

Nobody mentions how hooper couldnt get a shot on target form 15 yeards out when it was layed off to him or the fact that rogne was utter pish today but ppl keep unfairly critisizing samaras...i just dont get it.
