Aye coz finishing 3rd would feel the same as finishing 2nd.... having no opportunity to get into the champions league and make £10m ..... but there is no difference.

"Bottom Line" is these two players should never have been used in your argument as both were younger than ljungberg when they were here and were class as you have already mentioned.......Contradicting your point in the first place.

Last season we had one chance of silverware, so, where was Robbie Keane at Hampden Park against Ross County !!!???!!!
Oh & didn't Craig Bellamy miss a sitter & a half decent chance in 'That' game at Fir Park against Motherwell !!!!???!!!!
Don't get me wrong, both good players, but not *'s as they're made out to be !!!!!!

How can you put hail hail at the end of your rants. You dont sound like a celtic supporter to me. I didnt say they were gods. I says they had an influence on Celtic and both had extremely good periods at the club which you have slated them for by puting them in the same ranks as Ian Wright and Roy Keane.

    What a joke

A quality player on his day whether he still has it well thats something you decide once he has played for us but as a free and with his experience alone in our very young squad were is the downside? Id love everyone to put the "oh we need defenders " to the side because yes we do but we know their after at least one and maybe more so i ask ya now IF you knew right now we had at least one defender coming in and a striker hopefully and this was extra would you stil be so skeptical

I think one ageing, balding Swede in our team is enough. Not that excited at the idea of signing Freddie Ljungberg to be honest. Signing another midfielder just reeks of desperation in my opinion, we have plenty midfielders and should be getting more out of the ones we've got.

It's the defence that needs fixing not the midfield.

If Freddie's half the player he was at Arsenal then we're obviously on too a winner but there in lies the problem. His Arsenal days were years ago and apart from an injury-ravaged spell at West Ham he's been over the USA for the last few years which is quite a hard gage to access if hes still got it.

In any case ill be an optimist and if he still has half of what he had then he should do well up here.

tbh, our wingers are pish too, we lack a threat from midfield, everybodys going about defence but we're * all over the park.

i agree the defence is the main problem but i still think we need to strengthen upfront and midfield if we want to win the league this year

It will take one or two games if he signs for people to see that Freddie is quality & he is quality.

Freddy will help inspire our young players, and he will intimidate the opposition by his presence. If he is even half the player he was, he will do for me.

i heard messi missed a sitter last match also must be pish :S

you cant expect players to be godlike every match if you were to be picky you could find faults in every player bellamy come and done an amazeing job as did robbie both on loan!

only lennon will be able to judge if fredy still has it or not thats what trials are for afterall i for one will be more than happy seeing him pull on the hoops. Yes we need defenders but if your not scoreing or produceing chances you just dont win games! as proven all to often this season already.

The way I see it, if he comes with not too a hefty a wage packet I'd snap him up. Yes we need defenders, but if quality becomes available at the right price, then we have to take it. There is no doubting this guys quality in the past. You don't loose your football intelligence. He see's opertunities from midfield to arrive in the box at the right times. You don't need great legs to do this, just great timing. Something this guy always had.

If fit, and not too costly, how can we go wrong. Hope Lenny snaps him up quick, before someone else does.
