Hooiveld efter första träningen med Ljungberg: Han var överraskande bra - Premier League - allt om engelsk fotboll - fotbollskanalen.se

Hooiveld says that the first training with ljungberg was fantastic, freddy looks to be in great shape and they were impressed by his form. sounds great to me

    Interview with hooiveld.

    1. Is it the same Ljungberg you saw when he played for arsenal?

    - Yes, he looks very strong and fit.

    2. Do you think he will sign for celtic?

    - I dont know, trainers havent said anything to the squad, but he showed on the training grounds that he will be something extra for us.

    3. You didnt get to much playtime lately, whats your thought about that?

    - Not to much, i came from a club where i was a vital part of the team, and i dont have to much to say about my form, its just not good enough, but im sure it will change.

    4. Will you look for another club in January?

    - No, if the club wants me to stay i really want to, and if the fans want me to leave, i will notice that, and if so, then i have to look for another club.

    here ya go

if he can still do the job on the park i hope he signs tbh, a older head on the pitch makes the difference also as i remember a player that can take the game by the balls when needed and that is DEFFO! what we need at the moment.

"Freddie Ljungberg is a very famous player and I like his underwear. I have a lot of Calvin Klein underwear at home, maybe I'll show him. Seriously, he's a good player and if he comes to us then I think he can help us. It's great for us.'' - Cha

I wouldn't say he's past it. He's 5 years younger than Pires who has just signed for Villa, and Freddie was always more of an athlete than Pires. This is the SPL, he could do a job here no doubt. It's a free transfer, we don't have much to lose.

ian wright, thomas graveson, roy keane, robbie keane, craig bellamy, junihno and prob freddie ljungberg all for one reason or another never changed anything here and lookin back was a waste of time getting them, i said earlier i was happy with him but when i think about it and after reading most posts ive changed my mind, we've been littered with these kind of signings in the past, players who are past there sell by date coming up here and as i said, not really doing anything to change what we were doing.

p.s wouldnt say bellamy was past it but we lost the league

Think This could be a great deal. We soarly lack experience and our team is mostly made of younger players. The guy is a winner and we need more winners in that team.

Robbie keane and craig bellamy had no effect on celtic??? What ARE you talking about. If we didnt have Keane last year we prob would have ended up third. Bellamy was cheer class when he was here and should have been signed up long term.

The rest I can agree with but does this mean we shouldnt buy a player over the age of 30??

These guys can sometimes be gambles but you cannot say freddie wont have an influence on our team if he joins. Vital experience and has won leagues and played at the highest level.

It all depends on the individual, if they are up for it they can still be an important player for us. You cant say because ian Wright done * then any other player around that age who comes here will be the same.

see where your coming from but each of those players they were under different circumstances. Wright was a waste of time and money, he wonted a final pay day. Graveson wasnt over the hill when he got here, it just didnt work out and he didnt get on with Gordon Strachan:54: Roy Keane was ok....we signed him and romped the league with Dion Dublin. Robbie Keane was signed when the league was over in my opinion. If Craig Bellamy hadnt joined we would have lost the league long before the last game of the season. Juninho didnt work, We played a high ball that season and the guy was about 5ft 3 or something. I think Ljungberg could be a decent signing.....fingers crossed.

finishing 2nd is the same as finishing 3rd, 4th and 11th in this league, the bottom line is when they 2 were here we didnt win the league, rangers did, so what did they do, nothing. when we lost at fir park, where was bellamy there? keane was class, at times, but didnt change anything

I wonder how many of the people who say he is too old also where happy enough at the thought of Henke coming back, to me this is a no brainer as long as the salary is sensible as his experience will rub off on our players and he is what has been sadly lacking from a Celtic team for a long time. Also wont affect the budget for the new CB we defo need.

There's a slight difference between second and third, it's called the Champions League and is potentially worth £15M!
