Lennon & Keane

Anybody else think that Lennon & Keane can`t play in the same midfield together? Both are holding players & are not the quickest. I think GS feels pressurised to play both, Lennon because he is captain & Keane because he is our star signing.Thats fair enough but it might make sense to move Keane to Centre back as a short term solution to our defensive issues

At least the spine of the team might look a bit more solid, Boruc, Keane, Lennon, Magic & build the team around that quartet?

 

i think we can play the two in midfield but we are desperate for defenders this has surely got to be addressed in the transfer window, i also wouldnt build my team around magic id rather stick with maloney and hartson

 

It think it was a mistake playing both in central midfield in a 4-4-2 formation. Lennon and Lambert played together very well but that was in a 3-5-2 formation where both sat in front of the back three and we had Petrov pushing forward, with Agathe and Thompson at either side of them.

I think this formation is the best way forward as it allows you to dominate the midfield and it suits the players we currently have. This formation would be perfect for both of them imo.

 

Team selection

I agree, we need a new back 4.There is a lack of experience in our defense at the moment.Keane & Lennon are both midfield generals & are very similar in the way they play the game.That they need is a highly mobile midfielder to complement their passing ability i.e. Petrov.The problem against Clyde apart form the lack of a defence is that neither player was able to get forward enough, that & the fact that we kept giving the ball away cheaply.

Hartson has an utter disgrace up front, maybe that clip of him singing RA songs has got to him, either way he looked out of sorts.

Magic should be given a run, he looks a proper player

What defensive signings would you like to see? experienced defenders in their mid 20`s would be nice to see

 

It was a bad team performance and I wont draw any strong conclusions from it. GS has to thump the players for it and get them to produce some form against the next team, and show everyone what were are all about.

 

Get Lennon off, hes * *. Honestly hes got no creativity, cant run, and provides little support for anyone.

 

it was the wrong decision to play both of them in the same midfield yesterday i would have had keane on the bench and subbed lennon for keane in the second half and had nakamura playing in the centre

 

I thought that was obvious myself, but GS had other ideas

 

they can play together

 

Who would you have on the right then? Naka is a bit light for centre midfield

I dont think WGS had the bottle to drop one of them & thats the problem.He needs to be ruthless & pick a balanced team with the greatest chance of victory not the team that keeps his big name players happy.

Just heard a vicious rumour that Petrov has declined a new contract, not good

Keane hadnt played in 5 months, should not have started

 

exactly he should of been given his proper debut at paradise
