Update - having a storming season for us, in line for player of the season, controls the midfield like a shepherd does his flock of sheep. Still cannot believe you let him go but thanking the stars you did. If we don't go up i'm sure he will be targeted, if so hope you guy's have sell on % as he will go for a few mill. Good luck for the rest of the season.

He was excellent for us for about 18 months then got an injury off Lee McCulloch, can't mind what it was some sort of ankle injury. When he returned he didn't look as fit and he rarely got back in the team cause we had Brown, Wanyama and Ledley so he was probably unhappy about that and never recovered.

He never really ever played badly for us either, he just never got back in the team for a run of games to get back sharp and try and keep his place.

I don't think that was Ronny's decision. Kayal's wife was fed up of Glasgow, wanted to leave. Think as soon as that happened he was always offski.

Shame as well because he'd be * immense in this team if he got him fit.

Fantastic player, wish we still had him. Kayal over Brown any day.

Kayal was an excellent player who was ruined or hampered by a thug. Injury and set back after set back, ruined his career here and in the end he wanted away..

He could easily still have done a job here and to be honest, he was coming on to a real game just before he left..

I'm not in the least bit surprised he's smashing it somewhere else. Just don't jinx him getting injured!

If he ever returned to pre-injury Kayal he was always Premiership level.

Our problem was we persevered with him for long enough to think that might never be the case. Glad to see he's fit and in form though.

Good to hear. That * of manager of ours sold him just as he found his top form again. His last few appearances for us was him back to his old self.

His shots was still a bit mental. He could hit his own goal by taking a shot at the opposition. He'd then score a wonder goal and then start shooting and missing more.

    His shooting was absolutely abysmal.

Similar to Forrest, his body shape and everything was all wrong.

He hit one of the worst shots I've ever seen against Ajax in Amsterdam, ball went into orbit :smiley-laughing002:

Anyway, glad to see he's doing well at Brighton, might even see him in the Premier League next season? Easy to say now but I said at the time we should have kept hold of him.

    Forster
    Lustig Denayer Van Dijk Tierney
    Wanyama
    Kayal Ki Ledley
    Samaras
    Hooper

We'd be certainties to quality for the CL every season with a team like that. Imagine set peices with Lustig, Denayer, Van Dijk, Ledley, Wanyama, Samaras and Hooper all in the box, we'd be guarenteed about 15 goals a season.

You'd have no fear against anyone with that, really.

The bench would even be strong with players you have left out. Gordon, Wilson, Matthews, Brown, Biton, Commons, Griffiths.

We'd qualify year after year. No doubts.

Still annoys me to this day what happened with Kayal. He would have been a top class player for us had it not been for that injury.

He was like Scott Brown but with far more technical ability. Glad to see he's doing well.

Imagine that team against the team right now. The current one would get annihilated.

Was my favourite player. I was at the game that dirty big * MC Cullough broke his leg. Got away with it too. No yellow. Kayal was let go too soon. He was a Wee terrier and had good connections with the fans.

McCulloch stole a wage as a footballer. I remember his hatchet job on Hooper's ankle in a derby match v Rangers (RIP 2012) too. * of a man.
