I disagree. Rooney has great technical ability for a striker he is one of the best passers of the ball around and he would stick out for Scotland as our only top class footballer. As would quality like Scholes. Xavi or anyone with great quality.

Messi is still good for Argentina and is still their best player. Argentina would be a lot worse without Messi than Scotland would be without Fletcher.

Larsson and Ljungberg were the only top quality players in the Sweden team of 8-10 years ago but Sweden were still one of the best teams in Europe because those two quality footballers and the team could be built around their quality. Scotland couldn't build a team around Fletcher because Fletcher is the kind of player who fits around quality players rather than actually be a quality player.

A world class footballer would be a standout in any team. A world class workhorse like Fletcher, Mascherano etc only standout if you can even say that when backing up real quality players.

 

If you can remember someone said he was constistant for Scotland and I said Scotland are * and only have 3 good players Gordon, Fletcher and McFadden and they werent even that good which they aren't. Good players but hardly top notch.

You then tried to make out they were some of the best players in the Premiership and I said they were * which never happened.

Back to Hutton he is an average player with no ability.

I prefer to have players who have decent ability yo control, pass, cross and shoot. Hutton doesnt - I dont like his style of player and thats it. No big deal.

And Hutton is actually pretty good, ignoring the fact he's ex rangers, we should be able to look past that.
But seeing as spurs are selling him, they'll probably want stupid amounts, and we're not in a position to pay that, so maybe a loan ?.
