feeling wanted

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Pearse67*, Oct 11, 2011.

  1. Ive replied to a few posts just about what i think our problems are at the minute and id like some views. i believe that some of our problems at present is maybe down to the players not feeling wanted or appreciated. look at our uefa cup side, the spine of the team larsson, sutton, bbj, thommo players who were struggling at their former sides but were embraced by celtic, the management, the fans, the whole family if you like and they blossomed. i just get the feeling that lennon hasnt got the man management skills of experience to put his arm round a player, because alot of todays players need confidence. Our team, our club at present just seems to have a dark cloud hanging over it at present:54:
    thoughts??

  2. Idioteque

Idioteque I’ll laugh until my head comes off

    naaaa, its all rosey

  3. I think Kayal is worth more per game than Scott Brown, give him the same per week and the captains band, he's worth every penny.

I'm getting totally ticked of with Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell, they want us to dig deep, yet Desmond is rated in the top ten of the United Kingdom's richest club owners, time to flash the cash Desmond !!!

  4. Desmond is'nt where he is today by throwing cash around, he's a former banker and a shrewd businessman which means he's tighter than a pair of nuns knickers :icon_mrgreen:

  5. Feeling WANTED??

    How's about signing a * new contract?

How much more wanted do you have to be?

    *!

Kayal, Brown especially - think Emilio was meant to have signed his at least.

These guys couldn't be any more pampered so to say they don't feel wanted is ridiculous imo.
What they need is lenny's boot up their arses and have it explained to them what it should mean to play for celtic.

  7. No I don't agree, they have been embraced by Celtic. They are just nowhere near the standard of player you mentioned from the past. I don't blame Lennon either, they played for him last season but this season some have grown too big for their boots. They need to perform on the park and stop thinking they are better than they are!

The players are professional athletes and most are not young U19's who have just left home with a need for mollycuddling.

Most are well paid and need to realise what pulling on a Celtic jersey week in week out means. It certainly does not mean you can spit the dummy out and throw away your toys when you don't get what you want.

  9. I agree, plenty pampered. :38:

  10. Players not feeling wanted? doubtful. Definately some but if anything I feel we're being let down by our players. More they don't care about us.

All I know is they better get a grip

  11. There maybe something in the squad gathering mentality. I'm not accepting this not to be the case but come on, if the players do their job, they won't lose to St Johnstone at home!

Under Mowbray I witnessed a new Celtic. The one the fans were adament on where we'd play with Maloney and McGeady with Fortune' and McDonald up top. A formation which was always going to die on it's *. Teams that were doomed like Falkirk were dominating possession. It was like watching Spain's opponents watching us lol at the new Brockville.

I've never watched 'Lennon's' Celtic play like that however. Mowbray was backed with big money signings where the current boss wasn't as well. I'm not saying NL is perfect but if he was, he'd need to go some under the guys that run our club.

  12. i dont think thats the way. the players need to take there own lead. time for NEW heros

  13. To say that Lennon doesn't have the ability to encourage his players is both harsh & naive - especially when you don't even know the man!!!

The fact is, we don't have the same quality of player we had a few years ago because the money men are no longer investing money in the team!!!

If Neil was given the funds he asked for and was able to sign the players he identified, as opposed to those he had to settle for, we wouldn't be seeing any of these stupid threads!!!

And no mods, I'm not having a go here, just stating fact. We've had more than enough negative threads lately and I, and every true Celtic fan, have had enough of them!!!

    Only One Neil Lennon!!!

  14. For me, one word sums up our current squad: INSIPID

Being 'wanted' isn't an issue, imo.

  15. Why does every member of the "cult of Lennon" believe that they are true Celtic supporters & every one of the rest of us isnt?

  16. I certainly don't think this is a stupid thread, I don't agree with the premise about Celtic players needing a cuddle but this is a great thread for people to express their ideas about what is going wrong.
I expexted Celtic to progress on from last season and get better & it hasn't happened.
I think there are 2 reasons, Lennon is picking the wrong team, why can't he see Maj is useless when everyone else can, & we are really missing Emilio.
He seems to be vital to this team.

  17. He knows very well that big Maj is useless at times but he doesn't really have a choice due to injuries and lack of quality cb's at the club.

  18. eh, yes he does. he had all summer and brought in wanyama and wilson, neither of whom have set the place alight. maybe instead of bringing in "one for the future" and another diddy, he could have brought in one guy that actually knows how to tackle.

  19. Although i must admit there is a bit of " putting the arm about them", and the boot up the * man management needed here and there, but you ever considered that a good few of this present squad aint up to the task, no matter how hard you boot them or cuddle them up and kiss them on the head prior to them turning in for the night?:celt_2:

  20. That's a bit harsh. He wanted Wilson we know that for sure but Wanyama is more of a midfieler IMO. We already have too many cb's at the club maybe the board has told him that he must sell the passengers to bring in quality but the difficulty Celtic have is they may not be able to get these guys out of the club.

When I made my point about him playing Maj I meant currently! Not the summer.
