Ecstasy warning after man's death in Inverness
Police believe illegal drugs may have caused the death of one man and left a second man seriously ill in hospital.

Emergency services were called to a house in the Raigmore area of Inverness at about 18:25 on Thursday.

Northern Constabulary said an investigation was continuing and a possible line of enquiry was that the man's death was drugs related.

Police warned the drug potentially involved may have been a type of ecstasy tablet known as Einsteins.

The blue-green tablets have the letters E=MC2 inscribed on them.

The man died in hospital while the second man remains in a serious condition, officers said.

For the same reason that people smoke and drink, only difference is because the goverment have made narcotics like alcohol and tobacco legal, they are seen as acceptable, despite the damage both do. If the goverment found out a way to make a ton of money on other drugs you could bet that they would be legal too.

There are some very strong pills going about these days. Can't say I've complained coz they've been dynamite. But that's a few times in the last 2 weeks people have died so take care pill poppers.

Same thing that possesses folk to drink alcohol. Makes you feel good, makes you really sociable and loved-up. More positive feeling than alcohol actually - you very rarely get any aggressive ecstasy takers, like you get aggressive drunks.

Problem is, since it's illegal, there's no proper controls over it, so you don't really know what you're getting...

    You beat me to it.

The hypocrisy of the anti-drug brigade is pretty astounding at times.

So everyone who is anti drug is a hypocrite in your book?

I agree with LB, I don't see why anyone would take something that they have absolutely no idea what's in it.

I personally do not take drugs any more, cause I am getting on a bit! However rather than a black and white drugs are/are not bad argument, stories like this just make me believe more so in legalisation.

MDMA in the right doses, and without anything mixed in, is in itself safe. The problem arises with drugs because they are unregulated. If drugs were legalised then this would no longer be an issue.

Alcohol causes far more problems in terms of medical matters, deaths and policing issues than extacy ever will.

Prohibition does not work FACT every policy/law to do with illegal drugs doesnt work FACT the government should legalise drugs and control it make the drugs safer government taxes it makes money and the halfwits selling stuff get pushed out the market

If they were legalised they'd be taxed like * and pretty expensive which makes me positive illegal distribution would still happen no one can deny that.

Hmm I'm not too sure, if it was £20 quid in the chemist for a pill or £5 from a dealer I know what I'd choose, there's been hardly any deaths from ecstasy anyway, so I'd probably take the risk and go with the dealer. It's more the misuse of it that causes deaths. These "E=MC2" ones are one of the rare deaths.

Well then that is peoples choice! I mean I would rather pay more for decent drink, than stuff that tastes like bleach. Some folk are quite happy to drink frosty jack..but there is a choice. With drugs there is not.

I reckon it would be a bigger margin in terms of money though compared to buying Strongbow instead of Frosty Jacks. Anyway it's an argument that could go both ways. Don't ever see it being legalised in this country anyway.
