They shouldn't have been singing about the Ibrox disaster but if the hun punched one of them and left him cut then he deserved a beating. Punching a guy when he is with a group of friends is stupid to say the least.

Arseholes in every support unfortunately. The middle aged guy that said he would break my nose and his daughter who was apparently going to 'punch ma * in' at Dunfermline being prime examples (Celtic fans btw)

It's always disappointing to hear that our own fans have been involved in something like this. If it was one of the modern trains with hidden CCTV then the culprits may well be caught. Unlikely though that anything will come of it unless someone admits the assault with the bottle, which I don't think can be called self defence.

From the OP's own statement the other guy threw the first punch which when up against a group was in itself pretty stupid. More so when you consider the others were drunk and could quite easily have been carrying some sort of weapon. Only a fool would provoke an attack against a group unless he was someone who knew he could easily handle that sort of situation. Chuck Norris or a special forces commando he obviously was not.

I can also understand why Conor felt reluctant to get involved. In such a situation he could easily have been turned on also. So I'd say to Conor you did the right thing mate by keeping out of it. There's no telling what a drunk will do. If it had been a woman ,young kid or someone being attacked for no reason then I think you would have reacted differently.

You went on to say the police became involved and you can be sure someone dialled 999 and all the stations CCTV will be scowered to find the culprits.

There are idiots who follow every team and those kind of fans do nothing but disgrace the club and all decent Celtic fans.

singing about the ibrox disaster is shocking don't care what team you support the guy had every right to ask them to stop or be quiet he probably felt embarassed at being told to 'get his * out' so had every right to punch them as they were taking the * out of him

I'd hit someone if they chanted about a disaster like that, and then insulted me, to be honest.

The guy was probably already riled enough listening to them singing that *, the personal insult, understandably so tipped him over. I doubt any of us would've reacted any differently if the roles were reversed.

    :56: Exactly

No one should be making a big deal out of the fact they were celtic fans, What tends to happen when someone hits you is you hit them back. The only disappointing thing is they were chanting about the ibrox disaster, but these sort of chants only happen away from the lime light in small groups, Because they wouldn't be tolerated at CP.

Guy getting a doing after punching someone shocker!

  11. There is no need for all that crap. But it is not wise to walk up to a group of guys and physically assault one and expect the rest of the train to break out into cheering and applause. Maybe been watching the "big man" video recently. The "big man" threw a wee boy off the train.

Disgusting; singing about the Ibrox Disaster. That, and some Celtic fan's racism on Twitter lately.
The sad thing is, it's only a fraction of the Celtic support, but that's all the media needs to put us on the same level as the h*ns whose support do these kind of things frequently.
    DON'T GIVE THE MEDIA AMMUNITION!
Absolute embarrassment to the Club, these people. I hope the Rangers fan is okay.

What if "your" friends punch was rightly deserved? In this case the * was right to get a smack in the face. Yet was the beating that was to occur next warranted or even justified, the celtic fan beating lumps out of the guy could have killed him.

It was almost murder. Smashing a bottle over someone could have lead to his death, on what planet was it alright to beat lumps out of him. Sometimes i just don't get this testosterone fueled * that happens all the time.
