Camara

Discussion in 'Transfer Rumours' started by holy pope, Jul 22, 2010.

  1. Another midfield squad player?

  2. He's a LB i think mate.

  3. Never seen him play but we NEED a LB who can actually defend so if this guy can defend well first then why not give hima go

  4. I think your right, i remember seeing a quate from lennon when he got the job full time that he wanted to make a team similar to the one martin o'neill created, with big 6 footer defenders that will look intimidating, hopefully they can defend as well as looking intimidating :icon_mrgreen:

  5. Celtic could miss out on former trialist Camara

Ibrahima Camara expects a call from the Hoops within 48 hours, otherwise Le Mans will listen to offers for the left-back from England.

Ibrahima Camara is waiting to hear whether Celtic will follow up their interest in signing him, following his trial at Lennoxtown earlier in July. The Le Mans full-back, who can play on either side, is surplus to requirements at the Stade Leon-Bollee.

STV Sport understands Le Mans have offered Camara to the SPL club for a reduced transfer fee in the region of £300,000, with the Ligue 2 club keen to move the Guinean international on following their relegation from the top flight.

But Le Mans also have interest from clubs in England for Camara, who spent the end of the 2009/10 season on loan at FC Nantes. If Celtic do not take up their option to sign the player by Monday, it is believed the French club will open talks with the other interested parties as they try to sell.

Camara spent one week training with Celtic’s first team at the start of July as one of five trialists, heading back to France before the Hoops flew to North America for a four-game tour.

The 25-year-old returned to the country hopeful a deal would be forthcoming but, as of yet, Celtic have yet to take up the option to bring the player in to provide competition to left-back Charlie Mulgrew, who returned to the club from Aberdeen this summer.
IBRAHIMA CAMARA WAITS ON CELTIC DECISION
With Celtic now back on home soil after their trip, Camara and Le Mans are expecting an answer from Celtic in the next 48 hours. Le Mans spokesman Guillaume Bertel, told the Herald: “Ibrahima Camara has now returned to our club following his trial but as yet we’ve had no firm answer one way or another from Celtic.

“But the player and his agents feel confident that things went so well that a move to Celtic is a genuine possibility for him. They expect there to be an offer to sign him and perhaps the reason that hasn’t yet happened is because Celtic have been touring in USA.”

Celtic boss Neil Lennon identified the left-back position as an area he was keen to strengthen in the summer transfer window, also identifying the need for a central defender, a goalkeeper and a striker.

  6. I'd take him, we could do with another LB and it's a good price.

  7. he does look well built though and probs good in the air

surely we can afford one small one accross the back especially with height in the rest of the side a steal imo opinion but only from what i have read heard of him

  8. He's small but he's built. Ligue one's Robby-C I've heard he was refered to! Short man syndrome and a cracking left foot, ill give him the chance not exactly costing us a fortune is he

  9. Aye - same height as Roberto Carlos / Philipp Lahm.

I'd take those gents as our full backs. :icon_mrgreen:

  10. Roberto carlos must be 40 now

  11. Aye almost, hes still playing though! Corinthians in brazil, same team as fatty Ronaldo! Got to love both of em
