for Camara imminent

IBRAHIMA CAMARA still believes he can secure a move to Celtic when Neil Lennon returns to Scotland, writes Ewan Smith.

The Le Mans utility man spent a week on trial at Lennox­town earlier this month before the Parkhead side embarked on their 11-day tour of North America.

But despite returning to France without a deal on the table, the £300,000-rated Camara has told the Ligue 2 side that he expects an imminent offer from Celtic, who end their American training camp today.

The 25-year-old Guinean, an international team-mate of former Celtic defender Bobo Balde, has dropped out of his side’s pre-season training base in the south of France to stay on red alert for the call to return to Parkhead.

Guillaume Bertel, a spokesman for the French club, said: “Ibrahima Camara has now returned to our club following his trial but as yet we’ve had no firm answer one way or another from Celtic. But the player and his agents feel confident that things went so well that a move to Celtic is a genuine possibility for him.

“They expect there to be an offer to sign him and perhaps the reason that hasn’t yet happened is because Celtic have been touring in USA.”

However, Le Mans say they will not be offering Celtic another chance to take a look at their player.

“The only thing we are sure of is there will be no second trial with Celtic. We would expect the first trial to have been enough to give them time to assess whether or not he is a player worth pursuing.”

All joking aside, don't really no much about this guy, but if he isn't as good as hoped, £300,000 isn't that big a loss.

this could be a good piece of business. I heard we are selling sheridan for £200,000 so buying this guy for £300,000 sounds like a good deal.

 

Done a little digging on him and seems he is very good at attacking and * at defending , why the * cant we just find a player that can defend and still support ,

he's only 5'6 or something like that, it seems to me Lennon is only interested in 6 footers
