Broony

  1. Because Wanayama came on to an absolute stormer of a game and scored a wonder goal to win that game?

I agree but Broony did very little wrong in that game. He looked rusty midweek but thought he did well today, kept it simple, kept the ball and did a lot of work. Not his best game by any means but he is only just back from a long layoff. Think the run out will have done him a lot of good. He will play the OF game. No doubt about that so the more match fit he is the better.

  2. Watched the game on BBC Alba there. I thought Brown did alright. Not great though and there was a few passes that went astray but overall, I thought he had a decent game. I just dont see where he fits into this midfield for the huns game though. This is the player who Stokes will probably make way for which would be extremely disappointing. I am a big fan of Brown but he cant just walk back into a team which has been doing so well. If Ledley fails to make the game next week, then I would have him in beside Kayal but cant see anywhere else in the team where he will fit into

  3. I agree I would rather have Ledley but if he is not fit Brown would be the next option for me, I hope we go with stokes and hooper and if we do i can't see ki playing because we will need two grafters in there.

  5. gunt come to * mate, a donkey would run all day, to a sting and a carrot, Eeyore runs all day doing nothing for the team, you could put a tacho on him, but all you will get is miles on the clock, but with very little ball connecting that's what you need to start and count, and how far he had advanced with it. he couldent tell you if his boots where hurting.:31:

  6. Passing was * as usual but the presence he brings to the team was also missing. Overall very much average performance.

  7. My memory is * so I'm not trying to get into an argument about Brown but one fact I do remember about today was a pure pish poor attempt at defending from him that allowed Dave McKay to get a decent shot on goal.

Not commenting on his overall performance but that * defending stuck in my mind.

  8. Squad player, no more than that in a million years.

  9. His passing has been nothing short of terrible the last two games, but regardless of whether he's amazing or * - he shouldn't be an automatic starter.
No-one should, it only breeds overconfidence in the starter(s) and lack of faith in the left out players. Everyone should be made to feel that they can get a chance, but they should all also think their spot is in vain if they don't perform.

Kayal and Wanyama are undoubtedly better than Broony in centre mid, Sammy, Commons, Ledley are all better on the left, Forrest is better on the right and I would say when on form Ki is better than him in the centre too.

So for me, he should be on the bench at the most. If we get injuries in midfield or need to cahnge something up, then bring him on, but I just don't see what he adds that we massively need.

Aggressive, ball winning midfielders - Kayal & Wanyama
More technical, skilfull players - Ki and Forrest
People who can run with it and create goals - Samaras

Where does Brown fit in exactly?

I don't know if it's a coincidence and don't wanna be overly harsh on the man but we have performed worse since he's been back in the team, we were literally perfect without him so, if it ain't broke why fix it?

  10. I really cant take you seriously when you post that, his passing is on par with partick thistles U-19 team when they are having a bad day, his whole game revolves around getting stuck into the opposition, which may be fine when you play for hibernian or maybe the odd game for us but it is not going to help take this team forward, its is quite clear to any intelligent person that broony is holding this team back. He is not good enough for Celtic and he never will be, he keeps better players out of the team because Lenny seems to have a weird fetish for him

  11. Thought he had a good game today, drove us on and added a bit of energy, as ever, and passing was generally good. I really think he adds something to the team, though when all are fully fit I wouldn't have him starting. Kayal, Wanyama and Ledley are all better CM options and Forrest, Commons and Samaras are all better wide options.

  12. We are a better team without brown, that is simple fact anyone who isnt biased can see it clearly

  13. his passing in the Udinese game was terrible but he didn't lose the ball more than any of our other central mids today, I'm not his biggest fan but he isn't as bad as some make out.

  14. People say a horse could work like Brown etc but Ledley gets credit for doing a similar job. Both are capable of the odd slack pass but Brown gives the team far more drive and can harass the opposition off the ball better. I still prefer him on the Right where he played in the 2nd half yesterday.

  15. I thought he was ok yesterday, although his passing at times was awful. His energy is great and he is very good when we don't have the ball. He's much better on the right, in the middle he is an accident waiting to happen because of his passing and the fact he tends to give stupid fouls away.

I never used to rate him but he's grew on me, and for some reason I feel better when he's in the team.

  16. Scott Brown is a very limited footballer and for that reason i will never be convinced.

Sell him if we can as Kayal, Wanyama, Ledley and Ki are better players. Simple.

Still do not know why he is still a Celtic player, do not see what he does, i would like to see more home grown players rather than getting players from Korea or Israel, but Brown isn't good enough.

  19. That is nonsense.Three Celtic managers have all waxed lyrical about Scott Brown's talents and abilities. Gordon Strachan, Tony Mowbray and now Neil Lennon, not to mention Scotland managers Walter Smith and Craig Levein, so I take it you consider yourself a better judge of Scott Brown than the aforementioned managers, what conceit and arrogance on your part.

The fact of the matter is we win more games when Scott Brown is in the team than we lose, far far more, and his fighting spirit, amazing energy, ferocious tackling and harrying of opponents, makes Scott Brown an integral part of our team.

It is wearisome and laughable that you and the Hand peddle these crazy assessments of Scott Brown just to further your vendettas against him, which has no grounding in fact and reality.
