Villareal are more defensive and solid than most Spanish sides. They have only conceeded 2 goals this season and happily settle for 1-0/2-0. Therefore I can't see us getting pumped, just comfortably beaten :icon_mrgreen:

Had to laugh when i seen at comment above 2-1 wae naylor getting i winner,, although possible a think its unlikely that he will get a shot on target never mind scoring,, it would be a good bet thou,, infact if yi take a pound doon to the bookies i mora and put that on
you should get a few grand back  and a would maybe stick an other pound on boruc getting the winner 2 while your at it:icon_mrgreen: in other words a think you,ve probly got a beter chance a winning is weeks euro millions than naylor finding the net!!!!

Granted, but I stand by my statement. There is no way on this earth I want to see any Celtic side resorting to the way the Huns played last year. Thank G*d Strachan has more respect for himself and the way his teams play football and thank G*d you are not our gaffer!

put it this way if celtic defended throught the game and caught them on the break with a goal and say we won 1 nil wouldnt you be happy or say i was the manager and did that wouldnt you be happy we got our first away win i wouldnt want to see us resort to that but if it gets us to the last 16 lets

Mate, I fully appreciate what you're saying and at most I could stomach it for a game or two, tops...but no way could I sit and watch my team, The Mighty Glasgow Celtic pack 10 or 11 behind the ball game after game and get to a European final that way.

I would never be able to hold my head up again...ever!

The great man himself, John Stein beat (at the time) the best defensive team in the world by playing "football, pure beautiful football"....that's the Celtic way :50:

i suppose i should agree although we dont have the players really to break down tough defensive teams .... well me might have but they never seem upto it

I think we're all aware something needs to change, if that is resorting to a slightly more negative brand of football involving 1 up front i'm sure we'd all be happy if it reaps rewards on the park!

If he plays something simailar to the way we played last year Benifca, but with a bit more attack minded, and no Killean!, I reckon we could win 1-0. Play a 4-5-1(defend) coverting into a 4-3-3(attack) when needed.

    I've a sneacky feeling both Vill.v Celtic & Aall.v Man U will be draws.:50:

being positive I think we can draw or * it but only if we play very negatively Scotland style. Definately one up front. Our defense will be destroyed if we open up.

    ...............Boruc

    Wilson...........Caldwell....Mick.....Naylor

    McGeady........Robson......Brown.......Hartley....McGeady

    .......................Samaras

  17. I'm usually quite positive about our prospects, but no matter how hard I try I can't convince myself that we're going to get anything other than horsed tomorrow night.

I can't think of anything which would suggest we can get anything out of this game.

    Nothing

    Nada

    Zero

    Zilch
