Damnit, I just wrote a post agreeing with you... but I think you've hit how I feel about it dead on too.
-Maloney is in form... the other spot is up for grabs right now.
-I like the 4231 option as well, though I think we made the mistake of using Maloney too far upfront against the huns. He was more withdrawn in the Falkirk game and linking play.

No contest this one. Maloney give the team goals and pens with free kick options. Also he can pick out a good direct kind of a pas as well as take on players.

On the subject of the left side, I prefer McGeady out there as I keep saying he's better at shooting with his left for some reason. Even the other night against Livingston he was unlucky to hit the post with his weaker foot.

He's 2nd to Naka though and in particular games where we need strengh he's also behind Brown and Robson.

Maloney is far more mature than McGeady and can Maloney can score.

Its interesting that McGeady doesnt seem the flavour of the month at the moment.A few weeks ago there were plenty of people on here who were vociferous in their condemnation of Maloney.Interesting....

Its just an observation on the fickleness of football fans mate.A few short weeks ago there were polls asking "would you accept Maloney back" and plenty of folk were quite definite in stating NO.He seems to have won the doubters over, and I'm glad he's a good player.

Similiarly, with McGeady there were polls asking"how much would Aiden be worth if he was transferred"I dont remember anyone suggesting he was worth any less than £10-15M,and there seemed general concensus that he is a top quality player. It seems to me that in the past month or so there seems to be a bit of a change of opinion from Celts re McGeady.I know his form hasnt been great this season, but I still feel he is probably our best player.

I'm not one of those anyway:icon_mrgreen:. I knew we'd play better as a team without McGeady and was desperately wanting Maloney and his goals back.

McGeady has to learn to play as a team member imo. I also believe he'll become a good player.

I like Maloney as a player and he has been our best player in recent weeks along with Samaras.

You are right,McGeady is not the finished article but its only a few months ago when he picked up both the Player and Young Player of the year, and was the subject of universal praise.I just think some of the stick McGeady has got in the past few weeks has been a bit OTT.He is a good player and an asset to the team.

Maloney by a mile, i'm always amazed at how long team managers take to work out an opposition players movements. Mcgeady is so obvious at the moment!

That's not what everyone was saying when McGeady single-handedly dragged us through to the last 16 of the Champions league and played no small part in winning us the league.

to be honest, with bost on their best form, McGeady is the better player. But he has been poor this season so far. Personally I like to see both play. Possible Maloney on the left and McGeady on the right.

    Actually I agree with MuttCutts
    "McGeady Nakamura Crosas Maloney"

I think that would be really exciting pairings and they would create so much from midfield. I certainly think Crosas is better than Hartley now. Possible not defensively but as a central midfielder he is much more creative and has that awareness to make special passes and thru-balls. Also I have always thought Naka would be better playing more central. He is a very intelligent player who can make those special passes but he does not get much chances doing that on the wing. Whenever Naka cuts back in and moves into the central midfield area, thats where he is at his best.

    People have short memories!

There was times last season he was single handedly dragging the team over the winning line it seemed. Now Maloney goes through his return honeymoon period and he's the better of the 2.

McGeady will come back better than ever and we'll have the 'i wouldn't even sell him for £20 million' debate again.
