He bombed out of the Bundesliga twice. Truly a footballing legend.

According to bigsoccer he is going to be the next star striker at Bayern Munich and is way better than Podolski.

I respond saying uhhh nope and Podolski is brilliant. I do love to troll.

By the way in this same thread people were saying he would be brilliant at Arsenal. He would honestly be lucky to be 7th striker at Arsenal.

If Landon Donovan is the best player on the USMNT team then Scott Brown is a Celtic legend.

Just wow... If you want to start an argument over this then you should start a thread in World Football.

*edit* And you are also the person who wanted us to get rid of - not bench, but get rid of - Samaras even after he had the brace against Falkirk and the goal against Rangers. So pardon me if I put 0 weight in your ability to rate players.

And probably replace him with Adu. :56:
Though I'd have to agree, Landon is vastly over-rated. He'd be, at best, a squad player with Bayern. I mean, who is he realistically going to replace?
Ribery? Schweinsteiger? Podolski? Klose? Toni? He'd be lucky to oust an aging Ze.

I might have to go track this thread down on BS... better not post though, I've probably dodged a few bullets in the Asian forums. :icon_mrgreen:

I said I thought Samaras was over rated after everyone flipped out after he scored in one game. Considering the threads saying we should drop Maloney, McGeady, JVOH, Skippy, Brown, Naka, McManus, etc. after Rangers/Aalborg hardly the worst thing on this forum.

For ~1m I never said we shouldn't buy him (unlike half this forum) and like any player I think he should play if he produces results.

Adu is pretty good for being 19. I said I thought he was a solid prospect and a bunch of people took offense in another thread.

Most of BS rates him higher than Podolski :)31: I know). If you post just make sure to compare him to Ronaldo and Messi and you should be fine.

    *edit*

"He's the kind of kid you bring in cuz he's only 24 -- could provide cover and improve his game in the meantime. But to me, it depends a lot on whats going on with Killen and Riordan -- and to a lesser extent Hutch, Sheridan, McGowan."

What a glowing recommendation. According to you he's as good as Killen.

    Absolutely nothing. :fear:
Mostly trolling some Chinese who thought this Olympics were the best ever, a "debate" about Islam and cartoons, and endlessly insulting Qataris for buying their national team.

I see. I feared you might've belittled the skill of some Japanese/Korean player, but it's good that wasn't the case...

Nah, there's virtually no material to troll the Japan boards even if I wanted to. If people read our posts on the NT they'd probably get the impression that we're terrible and in crisis.
Kinda like earlier in this thread where I compared Tulio to Virgo just for the sake of not being too exuberant.
Though truth be told, there isn't a player on the NT right now who I think would give Celtic anything we can't already get.

Well, I think Honda could be useful to us, Sato as well. Most of their LB-s beat our options there.

Hondas' only got 2-3 caps though and is mostly a LM... and we've got loads of options on the wings (Aiden, Maloney, Caddis, McCourt, Mizuno, McGlinchey.)
Sato... I don't know. I'm just not sold until he does it in the 1st division of JLeague. Even then, just look at some of the production strikers like Yanagisawa and Takahara have had in the past ... and both were not so great in Europe.
LBs... Abe is really more of a DM that we use there for * knows why. Nagatomo is a young right-footer who spends a lot of time at LB for club and country -- but I fear he may get exposed when we play a team with a top-class RWM that can turn him inside out. Yasuda... kinda frozen out lately by the 2 previous, another young kid ... left footed... right now he's more of an attacker with a lot of potential, but just won't have the caps to get anybodys' attention in the near future.

Honda could play at LB... And freaking *, Yasuda is someone I'd give a shot... We're desperate for LB-s...

I'm not sure how Honda would feel about being a LB. But Yasuda and Uchida (RB), while we're on the subject, need to find their way to Europe... neither of these kids are going to learn much more in JLeague.

I'd love to see Yasuda here, as our future LB... I don't think Conroy is valued much...

Why someone from the JLeague? Why is nobody even mentioning the KLeague or even the Brazillian Leagues?

K-League yes, but not the Brazilian ones. They don't have every player as a good one, and their style of play is different than ours.

There's a lot more to profit and loss than transfer fees.

Last time I was in the Superstore I seen a Japanese guy with a box of Celtic t-shirts getting Nakamura on the back of them all.

    That's a profit:50:
