My breath was literally taken away for both the Shaktar and the Milan home games last year, i could hardly speak to my mates outside the ground when i met them!

Both incredible nights but think its fair to say we were 'fortunate' to say the least.

Not really WOW performances as such

    3-0 Benfica..
Mind you, I was already breath-taken before the match started as I won the Evening Times competition and was one of the centre circle kids....
But yeah, even if I wasn't centre circle kid, that would have been the last time that I was truly awe-struck by our performance..

The really weird thing about that match when u watch the full thing back is that after the opening 11 minutes the huns actually dominated for long spells!

Its still Lamberts goal that gets me, I remember it was as if time stood still when Lubo rolled it back across the box, actually fell backwards over my seat when it went in!!! :56: :56:

    Unforgettable :celt_2:

I thought we played well in both matches to be honest, still don't buy the lucky argument to this day.

When your drawing with the European Champions and your still going * for leather to win the match i'd say that was impressive!

I get what you mean though i.e. we never blew either team away.

Milan match i think its fair to say the elements helped us with both goals!

The Shakhtar match we were awful in the first half then two defenders collided with each other from a hopeful ball forward and we go in at half time level. Then Donatis shot gets deflected in.

Think its fair to say we were a wee tad lucky :icon_mrgreen:

Amazing character in both games though, both goals were incredible moments!!

The 6-2 match was the best performance I can remember.

It was one of the finest days of my life as a celtic supporter. We had lost the league by 20 points the year before (that may be lies!) and nobody could have expected something like that. For a change, I went out for the game, to the Hibs club in Carfin, and we were melted for the game, won a litre of Vodka in the raffle, which we swapped for 3 bottles of Buckfast, then there was a riot and a guy lifted a pool table up (I swear) and tried to hit someone with it.

When we left, 2 guys were fighting, 3 hours later, we went back, the same 2 guys were fighting in the car park, then I broke my foot !!!

What a day, and seriously, what a performance. Seeing Ricksen in Bobby Pettas back pocket will live with me forever !!!
