That whole thing was cringeworthy. Love MON but he was like gramps sitting there reminiscing with his favourite grandson beside him. If anything it's made me even more apprehensive. I had to laugh when he said if he loses Wed night they will be speaking to someone else Thur night :56:He's pure box office at times :56:

I know what you mean, but I think his calmness might be what we need right now. Falkirk tomorrow - the players need to go out and enjoy their football.

The Hun game may be beyond us as well as the European game but honestly we need the league points in the home games and I think MON can get them

Didn't tell me much from that. Don't want them near this place once new manager in. O'Neils best days are gone i think he may get a tune out of us for short time 2 -. 3 weeks but no more. He isn't what I would call 100 percent on the ball and if I was his employer I would want him to have a medical very soon.

    Actually in agreement with this.

Not going to do what the Huns do and just say “SPEAKS PURE DEAD WELL” whenever we appoint someone. I didn’t overly enjoy the manner in which he was answering questions. Just sounded like yer grandad and spent a fair chunk of it reminiscing.

I don’t overly know what I was hoping for in that presser but it didn’t hit for me.

Horrible situation to take up for him. Results will dictate everything

Will definitely be relying on Maloney and Fotheringham for the pep talks and getting the players up for a fight. Thinking Martin will be taking more of a figurehead/advisory role with his notepad.

No need for all the photos for two guys in the job for a week or two.

I didn't take that from what Maloney said. I thought he just said everyone was a bit taken aback etc, which is perfectly normal in any work environment when there are sudden managerial changes - my autocorrect nearly had me saying sudden menstrual changes there :D

I just don't understand why we've brought him back I obviously have massive respect for him but it's 2025 he hasn't managed in years and totally flopped in his last job with players saying his methods were outdated. Why not just appoint Maloney for the short term it seems like Maloney is the manager in all but name anyway. I really really hope I'm wrong but I feel all the positivity is coming from nostalgia

I doubt very much any of the players had a meltdown with Rodgers leaving. Just being very diplomatic for the presser.
A few will probably be just as happy as most of us are.

    It absolutely is.

I dunno why there's any positivity yet. Can only begin to be positive once the permanent manager is in charge.

Forrest, McGregor, Ralston and Tierney - they have pretty much worked with Kennedy their whole careers here and some other long term players, everyone at the club has only really known him about the place. For him to leave out the blue overnight would be a shock.

Really interested to see how his style of football works in 2025. Will no doubt be a direct 442 with plenty of crossing into the box. We don’t have the players for that anymore so will be interesting to say the least.

I think it basically is Maloney, O'Neill is their tó deal with the preas on the short term and probably in an attempt to say to fans we've got trusted hands in. It will probably work on some fans, like ones with less footballing knowledge than our board.

The only excitement I have is the prospect of, now a grown man, being able to see Martin O’Neill win games and hopefully beat Rangers. I was just a boy during his time year. Was 3 when he was appointed.

So hoping I get to see him relive some positive memories for however long he’s here.

But it’s an emotional positive more than anything proper

I’m calling this now, the board will wait and see if we win tomorrow and especially if we win on Sunday and say they are going to take over until the end of the season.

    I highly doubt he’ll play 4-4-2.
