Don't wanna score to many. Need to save some goals for the weekend. Considering we score 2 a month, I'll take 1-0 and hope the other goal gets us by the semi. Doubtful, but im a hopeful guy.

4-1. I think we'll be sexy on Wednesday night, with or without Maeda. Goals from Tounekti, Engels, Calmac & Tierney.

Then a narrow 2-1 win at Hampden on Sunday.

There's as much chance of the board standing down from it's duties than us playing "sexy" football m8

I'd make wholesale changes to the team for Wednesday.

    Sinisalo
    Sarrachi
    Scales
    Trusty
    Donovan
    McGregor
    Bernardo
    Engels
    Maeda
    Shin
    Tounekti

Murray is done for me. Never coming back from that performance. Donovan has done just enough in previous games to keep his space as Ralston slows our play down too much. Nygren and Hatate are frustrating the life out of me. McCowan better as a sub in the 2nd half. Get Simpson-Pusey on the bench and give him some minutes. He cannot possibly be worse than Murray's display yesterday.

Some positive news at last. What a boost having him back would be.

I genuinely think we'll turn up on Wednesday and put on a wee bit of a show, bud. Sexy is maybe being overly optimistic, but I can see a marked improvement compared to the last 2 domestic games. This, imo, is a crucial game and could actually be a season-defining moment when you think about it: gain momentum going into Sunday's cup clash and, just as importantly, close the gap on Hearts, who I feel will drop points away to St Mirren.

I have faith in Brendan and the squad in these upcoming 2 crucial games this week. I just can't envision Brendan going out on a whimper during his last season. Besides being tragic, and a stain on his legacy, it's just not in his dna to lie down or let his team lie down. And the team, btw, while being depleted with injuries currently, is still good enough to dominate domestically this season - even at this stage. BR will get some magic out of them and see us over the line.

Hatate to boss the midfield, nygren to dominate on the right flank and murray to anchor our defense! Looking forward to this one:Kyogo:

Certainly couldn't be blamed for any of the goals even made a terrific save before Murrays OG gaff and got close to the pk.

Love your optimism Arthur but I just can't see it. If what you say materialises, I will come on here next Sunday night and praise you to the high heavens however, it might have to wait until the Monday as I'd be pished on Sunday night if we win

I really want us to play a 3-4-2-1

    Schmeichel

    LCB Tierney
    CB Scales
RCB Probably Trusty, (not ideal to have 3 left footers)

    LM Tounekti
    CM McGregor
    CM Engles or Bernardo
RM ? Donovan or Sarrachi (would be Johnston when fit)

    AMLC Balikwisha
    AMRC Nygren

ST Maeda/ Yamada if Maeda is still out.

Tounekti plays more like a LW with Tierney and McGregor capable of covering for him defensively at times or the right midfielder drops back in to make it more a back 4.

Balikwisha and Nygren play more centrally and get in and around the box to give us actual bodies in the box. The Striker is a poacher role get on the end of things and attack the 6 yard box. Too often we have that horseshoe with few players in the box. Neither of the two former players are wingers and both prefer to float about in the inside forward roles so let’s try play them there.

Both Balikwisha and Nygren generally seem capable off the ball if you add Maeda we have a pretty effective pressing front line then backed up with Engels, McGregor and at least the right sided midfielder.

Tounekti isn’t great off the ball but we need him on it and it still leaves 3 defenders to deal with opposition attacks. When dominating games Tierney can make those late runs to add an extra player to the attack and we can essentially leave Trusty last man to cover with his pace and sweep up.

It would also free up McGregor to be more involved further forward with Engels or Bernardo providing defensive cover in support of the back 3.

I believe this is the formation which our players are best suited to at least try. Right midfielder/ wing back is the main gap until Johnston is fit.
