Ever since the Newcastle bravado calmed down, Barcelona have been by far the better side

I know people don't really like hypothetical questions/arguments, but how do you think we'd have fared against Sporting? I reckon we would have lost, but only by 1 or 2 at the most.

It's an absolute certainty they'll finish last in the group

They’d have taken minimum 4 off of us with the same starting 11 that we had in Kazakhstan.

I loved both goals but absolutely that 2nd still is hard to believe

Everytime I see it again, it still seems implausible as he was going away from goal and strikes it across goal & his body into the opposite corner — a knuckleball on top of it as the ball actually begins to dip as it brushes under the bar, xG is useless in this case

Was impressive in those opening minutes, Toon town were raucous even when forcing a throw in

Don't know if there's a separate thread for the Europa League, but big Ollie Giroud is still doing the business for Lille at 38 years of age.

Real Madrid needed a pen to open the scoring

Are you watching it ? How have they been ?

I know their fans were clowns but hope they at least pick up a few points along the way.

    Mbappe hat-trick.

3-0 Real Madrid. Probably still better than we would have done.

Edit - Finished 5-0. Maybe it was as bad as we would have done then.

Atalanta beat Brugge 2-1 as well

Hope Bodo and Gala can hold onto their wins

    Jinxed it.

Fun fact. Saray or Sarayi is the Turkish for Palace. Meaning Galatasaray is simply named Galata Palace in English. Similar in name to Crystal Palace
