Wow, whoever is in charge of PR at the board—or whoever is advising them—is utterly shocking.

From the silence, to the poorly worded statement, to now not releasing Brendan’s press conference! They must release it; the delay looks terrible.

It’s almost as if they’re saying, “We’re in charge, don’t question us.” If fans do question them, it feels like they simply won’t listen.

They could have gotten ahead of this weeks ago. An interview where someone comes out and says:

“We acknowledge the transfer window was not what we wanted. Various unfortunate events occurred.

    We will address this.

We plan to strengthen in January, and we’ve taken all the fans’ comments on board.

We will invest in the following areas of the club over the next couple of years.

We will form a fan advisory panel to improve communication.

Let’s all move forward as a club.”

but the silence is pure arrogance

Fully expected Rodgers to toe the line today but great to see him come out swinging. Gone up in my estimation tbh

I really enjoyed his full interview. I thought he handled that superbly. Gained alot of respect for him, and I already thought highly of him before that. After the nonsensical window we've just had he'd have been well entitled to walk. But the fact he's using it as motivation and is determined to drive us forward is inspiring. He's been let down badly by those above him. Time for us as a fanbase to unite behind Brendan and drive the change we all need.

Didn't mention Peters name once between this and the Sky interview.

Absolutely superb from him. Not fair he is the one that has to answer a lot of that. Perfectly balanced between showing its not good enough and knowing he can’t spread the negativity. This board are * rats for losing a manager of this level.

Some very good questions also btw.

If he doesn't sign a new contract he's basically telling us all that we are not prepared to change our business model when it comes to transfers and we are in for more of the same.

The more I hear from Brendan, the more I'm convinced that he holds the keys to this fan movement. Definitely not blameless when it comes to the shortcomings on the pitch this year, but he's talked his way into a pivotal position in the fans/board situation. Trying to scapegoat him to The Sun is the biggest OG so far, and it was clearly orchestrated by Lawwell.

    Handled that interview well.

Hope he has the team properly fired up for the rest of the season. Time to get on with the job on the park and get us playing the way we should be playing. Then, he can leave with his head held high in spite of certain people trying to screw him over.

Another thing I am happy with about that presser is how he acknowledges the performances haven’t been good enough so far. I could tell he was absolutely raging after the derby with our football. Never heard him say “thats not a Celtic team” before.

“Never been more determined to succeed” are words that we wanted to hear from him.

He will want to get it up the board after the leak.

He’s already as good as gone but he can’t risk derailing the season by whipping up his own negativity in the media.

So watching presser on sky again, Rodgers is actually saying that the leak is someone he works 'closely with' (board) and implies that it's the same person who 'briefed against him' first time around.
It can then only be one man.

Additionally rather than walking away Brendan is playing much bigger power games now.....referring to contract offers and wanting to stay, what's best for club etc as well as revealing board members briefing against him.

I think from his rhetoric he thinks he can win the bigger battle here.
If he can get into Dermots ear, maybe he can.

    I sincerely hope he succeeds.
I could see him being future DoF here too.

Doesn’t need to and he’s actually got a bit of integrity and respect. He’s a far better man than those * up the stairs.

    And who can be shocked?

This is why I find it hard to believe why folk want rid of him. Who can honestly trust this lot to hire a decent replacement.

If the Board were to sack Rodgers it would be no skin off his back, it would also put the Board in a real position given the current mood of supporters.

I think Rodgers is at the end of his tether now and just dosen't give a * anymore about being careful with his words, it's good to see tbh and long overdue.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out, as already mentioned looks very much like the manager is willing to commit himself for a longer period of time, but on the condition that those who are stifling the clubs ambition are removed.

A power struggle if you like, one that i would back Rodgers to win.

If Desmond is still on his side then you'd imagine there would only be one winner.

Wouldn't be surprised if Lawwell is acting the * even more now given Rodgers obviously couldn't be arsed with his nepo baby
