Ajax are set to hijack Celtic's bid to land Anderlecht goal machine Kasper Dolberg.



Celtic have been progressing in talks with the Belgian side over a deal for the Denmark international, with Anderlecht preferring to do a permanent transfer for a significant fee.

Sky Sports News has been told Dolberg is open to joining the Scottish champions, but an emotional return to Ajax would be seen as an attractive option.

If the deal was to fall through, it would leave Celtic scrambling last-minute as they search for two strikers before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

Adam Idah has already completed a medical and finalised the paperwork ahead of his £7m move to Swansea City, with the player and club waiting for Celtic to sign the documents at their end.


Ajax are looking for a forward after agreeing a deal in principle with Sunderland over a £26m move for Brian Bobbey.

The Dutch deadline is 11.59pm tomorrow.
