Unpopular opinion: SOME Celtic fans from Glasgow act like gatekeepers on who should and shouldn’t be supporting the club—they also seem to take pride in us having a following in Ireland and a global fan base, yet question fellow Celtic fans from other parts of Scotland for supporting Celtic rather than a local team. (I’m from Dundee; f*ck going to Dens where they wave union flags and sing about being born under a Union Jack, or Tannadice, where they abandoned their roots more than Hibs have.)
Edit: And when I started out as a Celtic fan, United were the best team in Scotland and one of the best in Europe

  4. The board know what they are doing and are keeping us from getting caught up in an unsustainable arms race with Rangers.

like it or not, we’re a business as much as we are a footballing institution these days, and we are beholden to provide success to our shareholders first and foremost.

Celtic Park food stalls should only sell Irish products like Tayto and Club Orange and all pies should be 100% Irish mutton/beef.

  6. The share price is down over the last year because hoarding cash in a cash account as your football product gets worse is not 'proving success for shareholders'. It isnt good business.

  7. In a proper business where shareholders are concerned with making money rather than just owning part of a football club, it would never be allowed to happen. They'd be saying, either reinvest this profit or give it to us in dividends. Especially in a market like football where there's so much inflation on player fees and crazy money to be made. The shareholders would be battering down the doors to get answers.

We move the ball much quicker when McGregor isn't playing.

  9. We moved the ball much more positively when Rodgers has less influence on those playing.

I was joking about this with the guys sitting beside me saying it will be coached out of them soon enough and it will be back to the horseshoe.

  11. 100% and it annoys the life out of me, when he plays the players automatically look for him, everything HAS to go through McGregor even if there was an attacking pass on they’ll make the 5 yard pass to McGregor. Does my * in

Tear up the pitch and replace with signs with Celtics bank balance

  12. CalMac has always been a decent midfielder nothing more AND HE'S NEVER A CAPTAIN on the park, he's a nice guy and would be fine as Club captain

  15. All well giving somebody something but they need to want it/accept it

  16. Cal, playing in the DM role, is the reason for this tippy tippy * brand of negative possession based football we play and we won’t progress until he is removed from this position.

  17. It can't all be blamed on Calmac. We never played like that under Ange and he played every game in the same position. Building cautiously from the back is a Rodgers strategy. Was worse the first time round, far worse.

  18. We desperately tried.

my unpopular opinion is people only give Taylor any credit at all because he’s not here now, we didn’t do it for over 200 games he was playing here

  19. The post a few up saying not a leader on the pitch? The fact that he absolutely is, and everyone on the pitch feel like that is a big part of the reason.

He’s always available for the ball. When there’s a choice between losing the ball maybe with a riskier pass (and Rodgers is big on successful pass %) or hitting it at Callum, 3 men on him or not, because he’s always the option and we know he’ll take the ball on, then it goes to Calmac.

Under Ange Calmac done the same, and it went when needed or he was in a good position. Not all the time. He could be skipped out. And when that pass skipping him would happen, it was when he’d dropped back a bit taking two or three players with him trying to cover it. The other two would make the most of it.

Aaron Mooy was dynamite at that btw. Didn’t see both them together as much as I’d like
